I just found out the hard way that BF5 doesn't allow 3000 series owners to use the DLSS feature.

What a load of crap, you buy a 3000 series card and get punished for it. Only 2000 series cards support it.

    Or am i missing something?

I know i'm late to it but i waited to play it on my 3090 with all it's RTX glory but once again with a BF title i'm left with a sour taste in my month.

I thought BF1 took the Pish but BF5 looks to be an even worse game.

Have you tried the game with RTX on ? I would have thought a 3090 would be able to crank out plenty of frames even without DLSS.

Yea DXR and RT are on but the DLSS option is greyed out.

FPS isn't an issue even with maxed out settings but i thought DLSS would give me even more fps. It is only DLSS 1.0 and only 2000 cards get support which is really annoying and stupid.

When you say true resolution, do you mean output resolution, or render resolution ? :)

You are better off NOT using dxr... adds close to nothing and tanks performance. And dont get me started on dlss... woeful, particularly in this game. Up the render resolution instead if you want to improve visuals - the added clarity will make it easier to spot and shoot enemies aswell :)

They never updated that? Wow. I remember they released DLSS with only 16:9 there but I always thought they updated their support later on.

Yeah I don't personally use it. It does effect performance quite a bit and to be honest unless there is water and I stop and look I notice no difference overall in fidelity. Shame it went to crap. They made such a a hoohaa about it.

I recently gave DXR on ultra a try and it's smooth! I couldn't believe it. Was there an update or something that I've missed? I'm on the latest Nvidia drivers so that could be a reason.

I know - I have a RTX 3090, but about a month ago when I tested it, it performed really poorly. Can anyone else confirm?

you sure there are no micro-stutters/bad frame-times? that was the problem with dx12 on bfv.

I had that before which is why I ask, but its smooth now. Sure, the frames are slightly lower than having DXR off, but before it was awful. So i'm surprised it runs better now.

this was more likely due to high mouse polling than dx12. ever since i changed that its been super smooth.

From what I've heard from others, each map runs worse the first time you play them with DX12. After that they become smoother to play on.

Having just tried the game out on the new driver at 1440p with DXR on ultra it performed relatively smooth on the maps that I had previously played with DX12. The ones that I hadn't were a slideshow.
