The game doesn't seem to be politically correct enough. Even though we did see face closeup of a black person and asian person, I didn't see a single transgender character. And barely any women.

So does this mean Battlefield is like the Star Trek movies, where all the odd-numbered ones suck?

Actually, BF1942 (which I guess would technically be 1, not to be confused with Battlefield 1) was pretty awesome for the time. It was the first PC game (maybe the first game on any platform) with a sandbox-style map featuring combat on land, air, and in the sea, so big props to that. But Battlefield 1 sucks, so maybe the rule still applies to some extent :p

I really don't get the point of BF anymore. All that MP grinding just for the next one to be announced. It would have to have a decent SP for me to even consider it.

I guess I'm just not that fussy as I've enjoyed every single BF title and preordered BFV via cdkeys for $67nzd :)ll

BF1942 was hardly ever played toward the end because Desert Combat Final was way better than the actual game and most used the FREE mod and that was the beginning of add on packs in games.

EA went after those free mod makers and bought them out and eventually turning it into DICE and the rest is history.

I've also played and bought every BF game in history but the last one BF1 left a bitter taste. It was a good game but didn't pull me in like BF2/BF4 did. 1000's of hours vs 100's of hours for BF1 and for over a hundred pound i'm not satisfied.

I want to be an early pre-order guy so i could get in early but history repeats itself again and i'll just wait for sales and giveaways and maybe save myself £50.

DICE was not owned by EA at this point in time, Trauma Studios the Desert Combat mod makers were bought by DICE, they became DICE New York, they helped with creating Battlefield 2, once Battlefield 2 was released DICE then shut down DICE New York.

ok small bit wrong but you know what i meant. EA didn't like the fact DCF was free, they hired Dice to make BF2 using those modders who made DC and once BF2 was done they got rid of them but the idea of paid add-ons was born. So for years they basically got away with re-skining and called them expansions lol. ^^ They'd turn a map dark and call it an expansion.

BF 5 has time travel which is slightly concerning me.

I couldn't be any less interested in a BF game. Owned each and everyone of them, until BF5 releases. I'm really hoping BF5 flops.

    Sad days :(

DUDE I just had the coolest Idea.... how awesome would an actual Battlefield game be if it really did have time travel and was basically all the battlefield games combined, so you would have characters and vehicles from World War 1, World War 2, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Current Day, and the future having things from Battlefield 2142.... that would be so random but fun.

Hahaha now that's a BF game i'd want to play. Stop giving EA/Dice good ideas for free.

Stupid people will buy it regardless, just like they do with Call of Duty (I presume).
That's why EA will always get away with crap, no matter what they do.

Not defending COD, as it's been a piece of #$%^ lately as well. However, they keep it the old fashioned way. Put a trailer out, some gameplay footage, stay on track... then release the game.

They don't go out of their way to rewrite history, with a dumb justification about one's daughter equating a fictional game with a historical event... then gives gamers an ultimatum. People won't buy BF5 not because it's a pile of poo, but because the developers screwed up again and directly disrespected gamers... so soon after Battlefront II.

I have too albeit BF2 has been my favorite of the series. Sure BF2 had some issues like grenade spamming and air support was overpowered. It had this quick action and feeling of being in a squad that worked together that I miss in the others.

We always wanted more photo-realistic games but now i'm starting to think that these games are too complex. Too much fluff and not enough feelings if you know what i mean.

BF2/BF4 you felt like a squad of team mates who had to work together or you'd be dominated by air/ground mechs which made those games intense but fun. These new BF games seem all about the eye candy and nothing about the actual mechanics of the gameplay.
