Look more like server updates, maybe not on your client. ( anyway, depend what hour they want to do the update, ( if for every place the same and based on the US time.. )

It will not with 2 rams, but 3 rams will do it, you just need to use 3 DDR on the 3 slots required on your motherboard.. They are mostly specificed because tested for work at same setting / XMP...

At the moment you buy 3 identic Ram, there should not be much problem you can still pass by the case optimize the setting for work with it.

Now its allways better to buy DDRs by kit, because as i have said, they are tested to work perfectly together using the same latency settings, voltage etc. And ofc they dont cost much in kit.

I could use two sticks of RAM in dual channel just fine though. You'll lose bandwidth, but I remember the benefit wasn't very pronounced. However, definitely go with kits, better compatibility and stability.

My buddy has a ****ty GB X58 board. Has only 4 dimms. Never would run stable in tripple channel, but works flawless in dual channel. So he has 4x2gb in it now. His old 3x2gb tripple channel memory works perfect in his sons x58 board, same board I have running 6x2gb sticks.

BF4 uses around 1.3gb of ram, almost 4.5gb total system usuage on ram.
Im running win 8.1. Im also running universal media server in the background. That consumes nearly a 1gb of ram even idle.

EDIT- When map switched to Guldman Railway, system ram usuage overall went to 5.3gb.

Oh wow, maybe my 6 gigs is enough for bf4. I thought my total memory was maybe the cause for a quick stutter/freeze when a gunshot went off, or explosion, or coms etc. It happens when sound occurs. I've tried sound through my sound card and receiver. It happens with both. I bought an hdmi cable with Ethernet included, should I have gotten a hdmi cable only? I have the hdmi cable plugged into my denon receiver, then the receiver hdmi to my tv. Maybe that's it however, the stutter/freeze only occurs with in bf4.

They should do. It's not the DIMMS that determine the amount of channels, it's the memory controller.

No it is your system ram.. I saw it can use up to 5.6gb here. 6gb is not enough imo..

Even for BF3 it was a bit on the edge. :)

You saw that much system ram being used in bf4 alone, or combined total usage?

On his board if 1,2, and 4 are used its tripple channel, if 1,2,3,4 are used it runs dual channel. For a long time it had to be run 1,2,3 in dual channel.

I used to run bf3 on 4gb ddr2 and i never had stutter issues. But I did only run what I needed too in windows since I only had 4gb. BF4 wouldnt run worth crap on even low settings below 6gb ram.

I had stutters in Bf3 with 4gb ram but I had only 1.28gb ram back then, played @ ultra textures, when I got 8gb it was like night and day - still had my old q9450 back then.

total overall ram usage including windows. Pagefile off.

I see. I never mess with page file anymore. Not since XP days, should I turn off page file in windows 8.1? What benefits would that provide?
