Battlefield 4 (part 4)

I haven't played since release, thought I would give it another go and try out mantle. It auto sets everything to high, runs @60fps but feels stuttery then after about 10-15mins it crashes with this error.



Any ideas anyone?

Edit: Using the latest 14.6 drivers.

 

Set textures to "Medium"...

See how that goes.

Don't forget to exit the round after setting textures to medium then joining again.. best to just do it on the test range to change settings than joining a live server with other players.

I'm still unable to play with "High" textures as well... with Mantle it's filling up all the video cards memory and then it crashes.

Using "Medium" textures doesn't fill up the 2GB that our cards have.. people with cards that have over 2GB don't have this problem I don't think... but don't quote me on that.

Strange though, because with DirectX I can use High textures... The smoothness of Mantle is just too alluring to not use, I don't mind lowering the textures just for that smoothness.

And yes, Mantle with Medium textures is smoother than DirectX with Medium textures for any of the naysayers.

 

unless you just mean 2gb cards from amd, sure. But I have a 2 gig card and I run everything on Ultra but with 2x msaa and I dont have any problems with the game crashing. Must be a mantle thing, sorry if you already said that

 

You are using a Nvidia video card and using DirectX..

I can play with Ultra textures in DirectX as well.

Quick post in between rounds to say thanks! it worked well, noticed medium textures are using 1900mb on some maps. Game is much smoother with no stuttering.

 

Back when it was first released, the answer was a definitive "no". Haven't heard anything since them.

Hopefully AMD optimize the drivers even better so we can use High and Ultra with Mantle without crashing xD

UCAV killed a wookie camping in his base (as attacker) on the hills in Firestorm Rush and he wouldn't stop crying and swearing in CAPS the whole round lol and the round a lasted until the last 2 mcoms. I wish there would be an auto-kick for such idiots too...

 

I joined a game near the end of a round one time... spawned on my squadmate, he was in the satellite dish building near American spawn on Zavod... No one else was there just him I watched the stairs for a few minutes killing about 6 people trying to come up..

Then lots of people come up all at once and I couldn't stop them and they killed me.

Then the chat log lit up in all caps GOT YOU STUPID CAMPER KISSSH0T.. over and over again..

Nah... was in Locker.. I ended up on one of the walkways surrounding the centre flag ("C" I think).. was thinking "hmm, never got here before..".. then kick :3eyes:

Battlepacks are pointless when you are high ranked, can't see myself paying 12 euros for 5 wtf.

 

Not only then. They're nice to have but it's nothing really special in them.
I can't even see where, at these prices, they're to be considered "micro" payments.
The camo packs from CoD were ridiculous already, but this is obscene.
