After the dismal failures that were DS3 and Simcity, I'll give it at least a month, dozen non-schill reviews and wait for word of mouth before even getting out the 40 foot pole to touch any new EA release. They can take their hype and their preorders and shove them.
Not at all - I played BF3 for around 2 weeks and that was it. A lot of original Battlefield players felt that way....
Yeah BF3 sucked bigtime compared to 1942 BF2 and even BC2 in my opinion. Most hardcore BF players abandoned BF3 a good couple hundred hours in.
If you've ever wanted to see marketing money burning on the screen, this is it. Online FPS is an addictive, and the only true battle is who gets to sell the most drugs. They pulled out the 'Rhianna card', that's the marketing equivalent of a full on napalm assault followed up with a nuclear bomb to clear the area of any evidence. And they're probably going to have BF4 ready for the new MS console and the PS4. If they play their cards right, they could become the defining FPS for consoles and make a lot of people switch. Thus, they would cease to be playing their 360 or PS3 for FPS and gain the fastest foothold on the upcoming generation. I think they got a great engine there, and wish them the best, but it's hard to watch their trailers sometimes because I can just see gazzalions of marketing $ on fire.
Well can honestly say I'm looking forward to BF4. Though so far all the vids appear to be single player. I really enjoy BF3, still play it. I've got no major problems with it but for me it's just not quite BC2. BC2 has been my favourite for multiplayer so far. I'll definitely be getting BF4. Also, I personally have nothing against Rihanna, her music is not my kind of music but what the hell EA? Putting Rihanna in that video completely killed it, terrible, terrible choice. Just what the hell? I mean I know Rihanna will have nothing to do with this game but I'm almost put off buying it, purely on this advert. I'm so annoyed at the choice of music in the TV ad that I've come back to edit my post.
