Battlefield 3 vs crysis 2 which is graphically better?

neither. they both look like ass.

 

Crysis 2 with DX11, updated textures and Maldo's Texture pack is pretty hard to beat.

But right now I'm more visually impressed with Serious Sam 3 than anything else on the market. It has it's fair share of low-res textures, but it's still absolutely beautiful and FUN.

 

Anyone being a smartass :wanker: and saying "both are ugly" ... should move to consoles for a week without PC gaming at all. Then come back to it ... the graphics will look unreal !

I agree with Serious Sam 3.
Although I didnt play yet I am also impressed a few screenshots that i saw.
But since the screenshot thread turned into skyrim thread i will have to wait until i buy it.

 

I give the edge to C2 in regard to overall "looks". Having said that, BF3 is just as good looking and seems to be less demanding and smoother, especially in Mulit-player.

Because of this, I give the overall win to BF3.

 

Crysis 2 is better than B3 in Graphics.

 

Those mentioning skyrim, only textures any good are underground etc. Other then that i't's not in the same ballpark.

Crysis 2 has nice textures/shaders and i love the water.

BF3 Has very large maps with high level of detail in most area's, What annoys me is that considering all this DX11 bull. The water in both games should be alot better although crysis wins in that area.

Love the lighting in BF3.

MP wise, BF3 destroys any crysis game.

But imo crysis2 is better then crysis1 and warhead game wise. More interesting and more to do imo.

 

yeah well, i think crysis 2 has more warmth graphically speaking, it;s more colorful more detailed, like someone said before, the levels are filled up with stuff, i like the attention to detail, bags thrown here, leaves from trees, etc, even bf3 has those, but crysis 2 they are more pretty on the eye, i just like graphics man..

i think it uses so much motion blur.

it is like illnes in modern games.
toooooooo much bloom, too much motion blur, toooo much blur, too much hdr, too much mouse accerelation, too much depth of field
tooo much everything that is unnecesseary or less important.
these effects are just effects as it spelled and nothing to do with visual quality of content.
In addition using unbalanced parameters just makes it worse.
Plus it reduces fps for nothing or even with 60+ fps it still feels laggy.

 

It depends on what you prefer. People who go for a fun single player ride will absolutely hate BF3. It's single player is a dull chore of a game that copies scenes and setups from recent Call of Duty titles in an attempt to be cinematic... but instead it simply comes across as tired.

Crysis 2 on the other hand offers a good sized, well paced and fun single player campaign that offers just enough room to really play around with your weapons and suit abilities.

MP wise... I know the current standard issue reply is "BF3 is the best MP shooter available". But, again they are two different styled games. While Crysis 2's MP tends to try to be like CoD:MW2 with the suit powers.
In the end it boils down to which to you prefer... MP or single player.

And personally, I'm a single player guy, and I say... screw both of them and get Serious Sam 3: BFE instead. The game looks gorgeous and is so much damn fun.

 

So please Serious Sam 3 players give more screenshot of it in screenshot thread or ss3 thread.

myself, i prefer BF3 graphics currently. Cry Engine 3 is no slouch either! in the immediate future there will be 3 contenders. *updated* Unreal Engine 3, Cry Engine 3, and Frostbite 2.

oh and that Titanic clip was freaking amazing! go CE3.

 

Serious Sam 3 > everything else out right now.

Crysis 2, Battlefield 3 both look fine, but SS3 wins.

 

Crysis,although BF3 looks good also,shame the game itself/features is the weak link in the chain,im level 45 in under 80hrs and totally bored of BF3 already,aint played it for 4 days.

has damn good lighting and shading quality. but there isn't enough of it....

BF3 has photo realisim. if it were a comparison of which looks close to real life.. the answer is bf3.

crysis 1 doesn't look like real life at all. but looks AMAZING as a game..

comparioson between crysis 2 and metro 2033 is also valid.

 

shadows and lighting goes to bf3 but objects/models/textures goes to Crysis for me

I remember this sandbag at siene crossing thats just a box with flat sandbag textures which really dissapointed me..And some scenes in BF3 feel like some textures are made too light and its not the lighting that makes it so.
