^Problem with a lot of those low price online stores is they never have the product in stock, usually they "discover" that immediately after taking your money.. lol

How much for the cheapest console you can find?

I think your understanding of international markets is very skewed. If I buy from NZ and have to pay £100NZD in GBP. True I pay the same price as you. However if you buy from the UK and pay £34 then you would in fact be benefiting from the UK's much cheaper price. A strong currency tends to mean that Imports are cheaper, meaning the UK can import products for what appears to be a lower cost than what NZ would for example. However it does mean that our exports are more expensive usually.

Were I to work for a year in the UK for £30,000 and take it to NZ I would have the best part of $60,000. Were you to work for a year for $30,000 and take it to the UK you would have something just over £15,000. How can you say that £100 = $100 because quite simply it does not.

I didn't say 100 pounds, I said 100 dollars, you misunderstood my post.

Point being that in my country $100 spent is still $100 spent. I'm not spending xx euro's or xx francs or xx pounds, I'm spending $100.

Stop converting it.....it doesn't work that way.

Oh yeah I understand that, but your point originally was that I was bull****ting. Or that the store was, when infact I and they aren't.

just to add, Ebuyer is not a "low price" store, it's an extremely large retailer which I have used for years, I preordered my 6800GT from there for example.

And to backup my point here are some more example of RAM being cheap.

Iv used ebuyer a lot too from the uk for years for personal use and the company I use to work for got large amounts of stock from them when we couldn't get them from oem's as ebuyer do bulk discount.

Not according to Amazon, the 4gb 360 slim is $200 (£135) and will be all 90% of most people need, with the PS3 your still paying for a BluRay drive, so you would have to factor that in if building a PC, and an HDMI cable is more like £1.99, not £12.99.

Not going to hunt over all the US shops, but there isn't a hope in hell i could build a gaming PC for £135, £300 seems to be more like it, and even then with the way games are optomized these days, that could also struggle.

Pre-ordered this yesterday and got a double sided BF3 poster lol, not got something like that for about 15 years:nerd:

The example I gave of 12.99 was from the one site I quoted. Chances are somebody thinking about a console purchase doesn't have the beans to look outside of Game for an HDMI cable. Thus will more than likely pay through the nose for it.

Poster? Haha, I got one with Frontlines!

I was already the coolest guy in the street :p

Valid point about the HDMI cable, most would probably think the cheaper ones could cause R/YLOD's lol.

Frontilines had a poster too lol, i thought that sort of thing stopped years ago, but then again i gave up on retail games years ago, and only got back into them a few months back.

Don't want to throw it away, but im a touch old for posters on the wall.

Yeah you'll be fine i think, my mate has 280gtx 1080p and runs so super smooth in BC2 maxed.
I couldnt even believe my eyes :p It even ran better then my crossfire setup 2x 6870's.

But i got a gtx560ti inc and hopefully saturday my second. Im glad im going back to nvidia. All my mates have nvidia and they dont have high end pc's.

But all the games run really smooth on max settings like bc2 and black ops.

So im sure you run BF3 just fine with some settings lowered and 1600x1200 like you said.

I might even lower shadow settings little bit, i think they eat the most performence and maybe textures cause i get 1gb cards, not sure if it handles BF3 textures on max.

    Fix'd :D

I reaaaaaally hope for some DX11 wonders in performance. But im holding my judgement on BF3 since, while the vids and screens look awesome, Crysis 2 pics and vids also were awesome until i played the actual game. And the "dont talk bout game tech" that Dice is going for isnt helping.

    I aim to please...and to nitpick...lol

Think you may be scraping the bottom of the barrel tho with that 6750 (5750)....pretty sure it wud struggle to run BF3 @60fps....but OK I'll swallow it...:p

Hey cheers mate nice of you to say....I know things across the ditch have been a bit rough in the past as well...

Hopefully the worst is over for us and we don't have any more nasty surprises ahead, Int. support has been pretty awesome though, and appreciated by all especially down in ChCh.....:)

I don't think that one should be counted, as there are many games that simply do not work correctly at all with the 4GB model.

And you're forgetting peripheral, Xbox Live, and television costs. You can still assemble a PC for roughly the same price (even including a monitor) which is more powerful than the Xbox 360/PS3 graphically, and clearly has more capabilities than a console.

Quite frankly, a $50-60 GPU is more powerful than the Xbox 360's (our HTPC had a Radeon HD 4650 which is surprisingly strong).

What games, my neighbour has that one, and has had no issues, and no game has needed an mandatory install so far, but would be good to warn him off any if there is, but i don't see how, as its just the standard 360 with a smaller HDD.

Live is pennies, and also optional, i don't pay it on mine as MP is something i find dull, so is a waste to get it just to get random demo's.
Plus if your going to include Live, then for the PC you really should include Windows, which alone would take up at least 50-75% of your budget.

A TV is something i don't include in either, as its very unlikely someone doesn't have a TV at all, then decides they want to start video games.

It just can't be done, certainly not in the UK to build a PC, OS included for £150.

Anyway, any new BF3 screens floating about?

    No, the latest gameplay is a re-run of Thunder Run but an interesting tidbit;

When asked if Battlefield 3 would have something to combat MW3's Theater system (Thats nearly exactly what was asked) a DICE rep responded with "No response on the battlecorder." Gotcha.

    It has a name.

And a european outlet, "GAME"(?) has a preorder bonus of SpecAct character skins, and a Swedish outlet has 5 customizable dog tags, which we'll likely get less unique versions of. From pictures i've seen these can display things such as your melee kills, tanks detroyed, etc... various stats you may be proud off.
