1: BF maps used to be huge; maps in BC2 were tiny compared to maps like Zatar Wetlands [even the 16 person varient]. Hence the focus on squad based combat.

2: BF has historically not had weapon unlockes. Bf2 launched with only one tier of weapon upgrades per kit, and most of those were "meh" at best [Only the PKM really stood out]. Compared to that, BC2 has plenty of weapons/upgrades [too many I'd argue, as it takes away from the strategy of choosing a weapon].

Looks like a real person pretty much

I think this is in game too because in the E3 dinosaur video, the guy in the tank next to you had the same level of realism.

Definitely the most realistic looking characters to date.

I don't think Valve will want to miss out on this title by enforcing whatever rule they have against exclusivity.

Its a pain that you may have to install origin on your pc,more crap, tbh if i dont come to steam i think ill just download the iso and buy a key and then add the game to steam overlay.

Just cancel there pre-order,this will hurt there sales, even though its BF3 some people still wont buy it cause its an inconvienience not to use steam for game time and friends list.

No Mass Effect 3 either on Steam, not that i care lol.

sorta stupid, since origin has everything steam has. just the games are EA only.
there's an overlay for games, with browser and everything. and also a friend system, and it's not bloated at all. quite alot like steam tbh.

I don't see why people are crying over this. Like seriously, if it's not at one place, get it somewhere else. Originally I wanted to get it off Direct2Drive and/or Steam but the D2D version doesn't have Limited Edition and Steam doesn't even have the game ... so I did the next best thing and it was to pre-order the game from EB Games. Personally, this works out better since I won't be wasting precious bandwidth to download the game.

If Origin allowed HTTP downloads (so I can use my college's network), I would've pre-ordered it off Origin because I don't really care where and how I get the game as long as I have it (within reason) ... at the end of the day, it's the game that matters.

Digital distribution makes the game a lot more expensive than if I just preordered a physical copy for me. I have to add an extra $16 to download BF3 (assuming the game is 8 GB large). Since bandwidth overage is $2/GB here, it'll be $16 before tax.

It had something to do with EA's DLC sales as they didn't offer the Crysis 2 DLC on Steam for example. Seems like that was against Valve's license agreement.
Installing another program that has nothing new to offer doesn't sound like a great idea.

So with the physical warfare pack you get an SKS attachment, the machinegun bipod, and shotgun ammo. Or you can wait and get it for free after 3 or 4 months?

Will the BF2 maps be released later as pay-DLC, or are they a different pre-order package like how the Fallout New Vegas packages were setup?
