Battlefield 3 (Official Thread)

Kinda makes me wonder if the people who head to a brick-n-mortar will be able to play the game once it's installed, or if they also have to wait til 3AM Eastern time anyway. Would piss me off if they didn't.

nah i took a chance on Play-SC.com because it was the cheapest i could find lol.

 

I don't need 60fps for a playable game. In fact, DICE has confirmed the target FPS would be 30 minimum. So above that should be alright for me. More is going to be better, but I think the point was that they had a target of 30 minimum to keep everything in fluid motion with everything happening around you.

Thing is, people claim the beta was only Medium settings and there was no high or ultra at all. Supposedly the only things that changed was MSAA.

I couldn't say as I did not play the beta, I was busy with other games at the time.

Think it all depends on the time zone, kinda like how i believe Valve has done nationwide simultaneous releases, too. i'm assuming that since it's not til 3AM here on the east coast, probably would be 12AM on the west coast. Unless i have my time progression messed up.

 

itll unlock @12am on the west coast. @3m on the east coast.

 

Damavand Peak is an awesome map, infact I like all the maps iv played so far.

Funny you mention that, the few girls I hooked up with in the passed of couple years reacted weirdly when they found out that I played computer games....like as if I was some druggy/doing something evil... uke2:

EA messed up and sent out a wrong information e-mail. Some of the servers are in Korea or using vpn to play. The servers are having maintenance from 18:00 to 18:30 pst tonight.
So 24:01 hours PST should be launch time for North America

 

So.... some of us in the US would get a message saying that the release date was changed to the 24th because.....?

In game FPS command :

1. Hit ~ to bring up the console.
2. Type Render.DrawFps 1, press enter

 

Just got an email saying the release was bumped up to the 24th. I tried to run the game and it says that it's available for me in the Central Time Zone at 2300 tonight. Tried the beta with a tri-core Phenom II. Now it's time to get blown away by this 2600k at 4.8 GHz.

 

Ordered an MSI Z68A-GD65-G3 Motherboard LGA1155 Intel Z68 (G3) last night and had some Corsair Vengeance 1600 C8 DDR3 delivered last week,i got my new Corsair H80 on my Q9550 atm so im just undecided about getting a 2600K or wait for the 2700K (they all seem to be on preorder right now,pricey too)

Either way im pushed for being ready for my copy of BF3 on friday

I also has a Plantronics .Audio 995 Wireless USB Headset coming this week too

Shall i just buy a 2600K then or wot cuz i really wana play BF3 by the weekend

Guess im gona need a new SSD too tho i have an OCZ Vertex 2E already.

Somebody help me choose a Core i7 !! LoLz
