Yup, to fix the new bugs created by the patch. This happened in 2142 and BF2.

 

My younger bro got this as well ... but he did not pre-order, he only plays BF heroes.
I've pre-ordered and have nothing in my mail box.

I received the same e-mail (pre-ordered a few months ago) and my initial thought was this looks rather cheap..

Typically whenever there is a message from Origin it looks like a birthday card..lol..

a day-1 patch isn't surprising for games anymore. Hell, i was home when my copy of Dark Souls was delivered... popped it in, and a patch was available. And from what i've read, that patch was done before the game was released... i guess for Japan or something. Think the same was true when Black Ops came out.... and a bunch of other games.

All i can say is..... "incorporates real-time feedback from the beta"? Hopefully that god forsaken tactical flashlight is one of the things that was tweaked a bit.... or just flat out f*cking removed. Can't believe the people at Dice talk about it like it's an awesome thing to use, and that it's used in real life and everything... blah blah blah. Yeah, it might be, but if you're going for realism, make it realistic, a**holes.

 

Yeah...why did they say it's weird...day 1 patches are out for like...every game these days.

 

Day 1 patch is nothing new, shoot, almost all console games have Day 1 patch.

 

Which is also a nice thing.... the ability to patch a game on a console. Woe the days of non-internet connected consoles.

Although retro games still rock hard.

 

Day 1 patches are good. The companies have deadlines to make and they have a few weeks when the game goes gold that they can't change whats on the disk(or release), but a day 1 patch gives them a chance to fix somethings last minute.

Some questions about this clan.

1. What is this clan going to be about? Are we going to be competitive or just for fun?
2. Are we going to have a server, and if so is it going to be located in Europe or US?
3. How is it going to be set up with ranks or whatever you guys plan on doing?

I hope they weren't implying something else here. Its a patch! Of course its free.

I posted the same link in the console section, very impressive cinematics.

 

Train section looks ok, but looks much better when they are in Iraq, and any game with Johhny Cash in it, i find hard not to like lol.

Have to say the animation and lip sync on the cut-scenes is very impressive, makes all the difference.
