Just noticed we got avatars back!!!!!!
WTF with the stupid download size? i mean theyre not increasing texture quality, no doubt everyone is forced to download the new DLC.
I checked the before and after size of Battlefield 3 folder when applying the update, I don't think it's the DLC content, I think it's just a pure update to Battlefield 3..
Please correct me if I am wrong, but from what I can tell it is indeed just an update to the game.
2GB download could easily be the 4 maps..
It isn't 2GB of new data.. it seems to be a few hundred meg of new data and the rest is replaced data.
any else notice you can't select extended mags for the lmg's? i was happy to hear it was a glitch and ALL LMG's where getting extended mags back. i have no problem with the rounds being reduced from 200 to 100, but i'm stuckwith 50 rounds with the MG36! and the RPK doesnt have the extended mag option either anymore, wtf?
My favorite BF3 commentator has done some SPAS 12 Close Quarters gameplay http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olO3LPO9tDM&feature=g-all-u
Didn't they fix the MG36?
no, i have like 700 kills with that weapon and dont have the extended mag available. im so pissed lol.
Could someone confirm about the update, is the DLC content in there or do you download it when you purchase it?
I can't find anything in the files relating to the cq maps but the guns are in, Im guessing they finally split the updates/dlc.
anyways lets look at some very nice looking armoured kill screens..
The clouds in the second last one look really cool.
I was thinking along the same lines DesGaizu when I saw some gameplay of the new weapons on youtube :/
....... WAIT WAIT WAIT.... IS THAT AC130??! last image.
omg.. it is.. in the first image too : O
Not sure why DICE seem to think it's suppose to be normal for 2 GB patches...
Like seriously, wtf?
I bought Battlefield Premium almost immediately.
Because I fully intended to get all the DLC anyways. Saved $10. Plus, I got a few (albeit gimmicky) things as a bonus.
But mostly because of the saving money part. Had it only been for weapon/soldier camo and new dogtags - I wouldn't have spent one cent.
Also, Battlelog looks really nice now.
Looking forward to Armored Kill - looks super-epic, especially with the AC-130!
I thought Premium would be a yearly payment. What happens if you only pay for 1 year, does the extra stuff (weapons, vehicles) disappear?
It's like Steam where they replace the files instead of patching them thus why the update is so large, game folder from what I've read only increased in size by roughly 100 MB.
Nope. One-time payment, you have the stuff with your account permanently.
Don't you think it's funny the Armored Kill screens don't have the blue tint anymore? They do look adorable to say the least.
I wonder if the Premium account costs the same if you have the Back to Karkand DLC already purchased... If so, then the premium account could be not that worthy for players that already have the first dlc...
I already had B2K. It's still cheaper to get Battlefield Premium. Each DLC is $15. Multiply by four for the remaining DLCs. Equals $60. You save $10 by buying Battlefield Premium.
And yeah, if you have B2K you should get a discount. Not really fair, honestly. But the majority of people who got B2K got it for free from pre-ordering. So it's as-if EA gets your money anyhow...
Assuming you intend to get all the DLC, you save $10 if you already own B2K, and $25 if you don't, rather than buying each separately.
Also, you get two-weeks early access to the DLC. That's a bigger deal to me than the camo and dogtags nonsense.
Good to know. Thanks PR-0927.
