Battlefield 3 (Official Thread) Pt. 2

yah, more than usual at this time of day for me ...

 

Hi guys, I need some help with the patch.

When I log into Origin it says I have 4.4 GB of 14.9 GB

When I check the size of my Battlefiled 3 folder the size of the folder is 14.8 GB

I was under the impression this new update was small, could someone tell me the size of their update.

If this is how much I have to download I pretty much can no longer play the game, I cannot download that much, it's too much, I guess I'll be quitting BF3 completely if this is what I need to get =_=

Here are screenshots showing what I have.

 

The update wasn't that big, My BF3 folder with B2K is 15.9 GB and the update folder takes up 4.09GB.

 

No probs for me either tonight.

Not really noticed any perf difference aswell, but its not like the 7970 was slow anyway in this game when oc'd

 

My update folder is 3.81 GB

So I guess the update is small, but something is going wrong for me.

I am making a backup of the current BF3 folder, uninstalling Origin and re-installing Origin with new installer then putting my Patched Backup copy of BF3 into Origin, I'll see what that does.

Could people tell me the sizes of their updates through origin please///

The latest update is awesome, I get autokicked after one minute I'm on a server, every time guaranteed. Tried to reinstall PB but it ain't happened, kudos to DICE and their lack of QA.

 

I read on BF3 forums that This new update is 149 mb, is this correct? can someone confirm please.

Would love to know how much people downloaded through Origin for this new update.

I really dislike these online game provider services applying Updates through the service itself, I like the idea of Downloading the update, then installing the update, then you know what you have and what you have done.

I had Origin installed to my D drive, I've re-installed Origin to C drive and I am in the progress of extracting my backup I made of BF3 after the last update.. fingers crossed I guess :/

 

Re-installed BF3. it says ready to play.

I close Origin and run it again, then click check for update on BF3 and it says up to date.

I have not downloaded anything.

Go into battlelog and today's message is~

"We are aware of the issue following today´s patch. We are working on resolving this as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!"

In battlelog it says there is an update available for the game, I click it and it takes me back to Origin and it doesn't do anything.

Yay~

I love when nothing happens =_=

I've Clicked on repair install, I wonder if that will do it.

I guess it's fixed for me now.

 

I just wish the games were more up front about the version numbers. It seems every single game wants to put the version number in some out of the way place, like they want to hide it.
I can't remember the last time I had a game that I didn't have to google to find out where to see the version number.

 

Anyone else's performance way up with new patch? Ultra with 4X MSAA is now playable?

CoD always has it on the main screen and the first line when you open the console. Skyrim shows it right away too. Not in the middle of the screen of course, lower right hand corner normally

 

There is an EA moderator named Henry Blackburn.. that is awesome lol.

 

Got the update... 140+ MB... played a couple of rounds... got a lot of unexplainable "suicide" and "bad luck" while walking on rubble and buildings with half blown up stairways.. :bang:

Also a bug i never noticed before.. in assualt i've been using L85A2 with M26 MASS standalone as a gadget... now if i die while holding the M26, when i respawn the L85A2 crosshair is a circle like the M26 has.. have to toggle back and forth to reset it.. no biggie but never did that before.. :3eyes:

Performance is definitely up on my 7950.

 

I don't play CoD. For the Steam version of Skyrim, it's not shown right away on the main screen. You first have to load a game, then hit Escape. The number is on the pause screen
