Open betas for COD and Battlefield have never been that broken, and i'm not doing any caricature here.

Skill ups video is really good, pretty much hit's all the points I have a problem with.

I have way more faith in the parts that dice LA have been working on (remember the only reason BF4 ended up in such a good states was the work they did) than I do DICE to have this game ready for next month.

I thought BF4 was fixed by the work Visceral did on BF:HL?

As much hate as that game gets the tick rates, netcode, and general feel of the multiplayer was exceptional. It was soon after this that BF4 got patched with the same code and fixed.

Nope it was dice LA who did most of the work on BF4 after release including the community made map and the dragons valley remake also the total rework of netcode.

Visceral did work on BF3 quite a bit they made some of my faviourte dlc's aftermath and end game and yeah hardline actually had a lot of good features like been able to take meds and ammo off of team mates.

Visceral did some coproduction on BF3 and they made the last DLC - endgame.

After DICE LA took over BF4 from Sweden there wasn't much done by Visceral until late BFH development (which took BF4 beta as its code base so a lot of stuff had to be pulled back to the code yet again).
However bulk of netcode improvements, higher tickrate support and whatnot were mostly due to Viscerals involvement - funnily enough SWBF was also in development at the same time and if it wasn't for Visceral helping prototype hoverbikes, they would've been cut as DICE Sweden was having enough of a hard time getting them to work in Frostbite to consider axing them entirely.

They're sending out surveys about the beta now and it was pretty detailed in places. I suggest people check their emails and give some honest feedback. I did my part.

Battlefield 2042’s Troubled Development and Identity Crisis

An interesting read that talk about the issues with the open beta, the problems with management inside Dice and how they pushed BF 2042 to copy Call of Duty 2019.

Everything EA does is in the pursuit of trying to find a new recurrent monetization system.. always judge every decision they make using that as the thing behind the decision, so in this case the removal of a very basic Battlefield feature of "soldier classes" and it being replaced with "Specialists" is entirely to do with what the true intention will be later down the line, which will be selling skins "specialists" for money or in game currency that you will need to purchase with money.

EA does not care about what made Battlefield "Battlefield"... it cares about money.. it looks at other games that are popular and says to it's developers do that I want to make money like that.

That's why it will fail hard. EAC is garbage, BETA already had cheaters. Warzone/Vanguard will be the true kings when Raven deploys their anti-cheat. I also have high hopes for Halo Infinite..

EA is trying to turn every one of it's franchises into FIFA and Madden.
Unless it's making them a billion dollars in micro-transactions, they consider it a failure.

And it's that simple, the past few posts sums it all up.

DICE did not stay true to it's Battlefield roots. When you mimic other games then what do you have left?

    Not BF evidently.

    It is so disappointing.

It seems counterintuitive coming from a publisher who already has one of healthiest BRs on the market, then again it's same publisher who releases BF3 then sabotages medal of honor twice in a row only to axe ongoing warfighter support and shelve entire franchise for like what 7-8 years?

I really have no idea what is the basis for decisive processes at EA.

    I don't think it's money alone.
It's a mixture of really desire for money, absolute greed. With complete lack of vision and utter incompetence.
In the last decades, most of EA franchises have crashed and burned. And with them a lot of great studios.
It it wasn't for those billions from Fifa and Madden, EA would have already gone bankrupt, from such mismanagement.

It's possible EA might lose the license for Fifa.

That's bad for EA, but not very bad.
As far as I know Fifa only holds the rights for it's name and tournaments.
Player names, teams logos and colors, etc., are not held by Fifa.
I'm not sure it's exactly like this, but maybe someone else knows best.

I've pretty much given up hope for AAA companies. Gaming today is a lot like the film industry - 95% garbage. It's a theme park with little to no substance.
