Simply because besides russian-published World War 3, there's nothing in the segment to fill the gap. And that burns hole in my head as i'm getting sick and tired of the black loading screen bug.
Most of the issues I had with the game on launch have been addressed. The main one being map size and second being specialists. They scaled the maps down and added classes. Even though they chose to keep the specialists they toned down their upbeat cocky attitude which makes them more tolerable in a war setting. The weapons still need some work though, a little more recoil & a predictable bullet spread would be good.
reinstalled and playing from time to time, close to be a bf4 level of quality experience for me, with its pros and cons. Not a fan of being back to playing the minimap, that's one thing i loved about bf5.

for me battlefield had lost it s appeal after bf5, the animations were much better in that game, the overall aesthetic was more polished and artsy to give it a word, it had style added on it s graphics, it gave it something special, in this bf game, feels like that graphics are just an afterthought. i even enjoyed bf1 and bf4 more than any other bf game.
I played on launch and wasn't a fan, downloaded again recently after an ea trial for jedi survivor. Genuinely surprised how good 2042 is now, feels great to play, runs well, nice looking cosmetics and a battlepass that isn't a slog. Really enjoying it
I have to say I really preferred Portal. But I`m pretty much turned me off of mp MilQuakers. Hoping to see a more Co op against the A.I. ARMA MilTac experience show up some time.
To me it was clear that the trend in FPS games around BF1 era was going after much hardcore and immersive experiences. PUBG is much closer to first person simulation than battlefield, also CoD:Modern Warfare 2019 happened and they put so much work on the first person experience it really found a new ground between the arcade and simulation. I expected Battlefield franchise to follow with the more hardcore trend, kinda wished, and they had some good ideas for that but only in user interface with 3D spotting removal and no more minimap in BF5, but the core first person experience, the animation, the feeling, has barely changed since bf3/bf4 and that includes bf2042. The DICE first person experience need to change, bf3, bf4, bf1, bfV, bf2042, Battlefront 1&2 all the same, it's a ton of tasteless first person procedural animations, it's boring and not immersive with modern standard, and hardly better than any other indie studio can do nowadays (like Battle Bit for instance). The only artisitic work regarding animations are the reloads and it gets old very fast. To me CoD: Modern Warfare 2019 changed the game regarding 'arcady' first person shooter perspective and DICE never caught up. DICE tried changing User interface, ammo management,... anything but the core: the camera, its animations, weapons animations, world interactions (bf4-5 added advanced vaulting and falling on your back and that's it?!) Can't overstate enough how CoD:MW 2019 was a slap in the face, it's an arcade FPS, it's not a simulation true first person experience and yet it's so damn immersive. Please DICE, put some thought into your core experience.
They always have to fix issues that the previous patch caused and it's always something weird that makes you wonder how did they mess that up when all they did was balance a few weapons? I recall the last patch for BC2 ruined the lighting so bad that disabling bloom in the config file had no effect. Everything was just too bright & oversaturated making it hard to see on snow and desert maps.
That's a dumb question. EA/DICE pay him. I've only ever watched Jackfrags to get his opinion and watch some gameplay. I never subscribed to him.
Just had a cool moment with the grappling hook: grappled onto an ennemy tank, placed a couple C5, jumped off and detonated the charges blowing up the tank. That's old school Battlefield moment right there, loved it.
again I didnt get the 5.0.1 update.. so I clicked repair and now its downloading 7.6GB.. whats going on with the updates? edit: ea app cache clear did the job.
Speaking of C5, anyone else notice how the C5 will suddenly disappear once they're thrown onto a vehicle sometimes. It started happening in the 5.0.0 update. Initially, I thought it was a new vehicle perk or something to do with Blasco, but it seems to be more like a bug. There were even a few times I've equipped the C5 and my character dropped all of them on the ground and they disappeared.
