I agree it may not be the best, but I still had my fun. I just didn't expect to see it die out so quick. I took a little break from MP games and wanted to get back in..
Battlefield 1 is great, but there's something missing long term for me. I don't feel the replay- ability i felt on BC2/BF3/BF4 (btw BF4 was BF3.5 imo)
i think i will reinstall bf4 again aswell, long term in this game not happening to me aswell, it's the war era i would say, modern warfare feels better.
some servers are empty. but there are still servers full in europe. runs nicely on 1440p on my 970 with 4x msaa, i missed the game i have to say, missed new weapons etc..
BF4 (according to Bf4stats.com) is sitting at roughly half the players BF1 is pulling in. That's actually pretty impressive for BF4 and sad for BF1. My server browser is a joke in BF1. Frontlines pulls 1 server with a reasonable amount of players on it, and conquest is a small handful. This is when I filter to North America. Maybe the server browser is completely broken, but it doesn't explain the constant empty servers I get put into. I will often quit said empty server and quick game again to be put right back into the same empty server.
Vanilla game is full of players and kicking. But DLC is in sad situation. Nobody plays TSNP Operations, every time I try to search for one, I end up alone in an empty server. Frontlines has like 4 full servers, but only on weekends. Conquest is fine though, enough people plays any day of the week, at least for now.
I love BF1, i really do. But i don't feel like playing it as much as the previous one. I've a hard time figuring out why. Lack of variation in maps and vehicle maybe. BF4 and all its add-on is just full of various experiences.
I think BF1942, BF1942+Desert Combat mod, BF2, BC2 and early BF3 were the true highlight of the fun i had with the franchise. BF1 delivers a state of the art, incredible high quality multiplayer fps experience, but long term, there's something missing for me. I'm also bored of EA/DICe splitting their player base with DLCs, Battlefront Premium is the worst buy i've done in video game for a while. And now i can't even play French side with BF1.
I preferred BF3 over 300hrs, BF4 maybe 45hrs.. didnt bother with this one. BF is dead to me now.. :grin:
After this new update, TSNP is more alive now, also double exp is active for premium users. If somebody is waiting to play DLC maps, I think this is the best chance currently, since it is now more active. I guess, until next month, when second bonus TSNP map arrives - Prise de Tahure. Spoiler
Yes, ever since Bfbc2 (which was the highlight of the series imho) the quality has gone down. I would have liked bf3 if it wasnt for the visual manipulation (bright flashlights/supression which distort vision) really broke it for me though. Also the vault of objects is not a good mechanical choice. I sitll play a little bf4, but thats mostly because I have friends there and because I like some of the guns (which is really important to me).
