Batman: Arkham Knight

This is probably going to be one of the first next gen games that actually look next gen. It's good that Rocksteady is the dev this time. I assume they have been busy for some time now.

That it had some pretty bad performance issues at release.

But, will Gotham actually feel like... a city this time? As in civilians walking around, regular people on the streets.
Or will we once again find ourselves racing around an empty city, filled only with thugs.

I don't need a city, I need a playground.

 

Well, actually civilians will look more real.....come on....the 4th installment, and never nobody home!?, batman is not doing to job correctly then...

It didn't happen in any of the batman games. She was paralyzed in the Killing Joke novel after Joker shot her. She was Batgirl at the time. Then afterwards became Oracle.

I kinda doubt it though, real thing always looks 10x worse then CGI.

We won't get this level of visual fidelity for all assets but character models should looks REALLY close to that.

 

Yes.
The Joker trying to show Batman that anyone can go insane because of one really bad day.
So, kidnapped Jim... and forces him to watch a video feed of the Joker beating, abusing and torturing Barbara.

Then, he shots her in the back.
All stuff that takes place long before the time period they started Arkham Asylum with.

It was also the inspiration Christopher Nolan drew from for The Dark Knight.

 

I 100% agree on your statement even if it's not using the Unreal Engine 4
just the fact that the new consoles are out and share many hardware similarities as the PC things can only get much better.
I am also expecting many great changes to PC gaming.
The old consoles 360 PS3 where holding back pc gaming big time and we kept getting ports with low quality assets such as low res textures for example.
I am expecting this Batman game will be one of the best ones ever and i really love the fact that we will be driving the batmobile...

 

Watching that CG trailer i was split as i usually have no time for pre-rendered trailers, but by the end of it i was wishing the guys who did it would make a full length movie.

Looking forward to the game, like that there is no 360/PS3 version and some of the tech info that the car alone would take up as much resources as the full previous games wold on the 360.
I will definitely need to upgrade before then though

Even after so many great sounding improvements it's difficult not to be disappointed that even with all that next gen muscle the city itself will be completely void of Gothamites and will consist of the same empty streets with nothing but the same enemy presence as always. Grand Theft Auto III had a city area with drivable vehicles and inhabitants wandering around way back in 2001 and yet even now Batman games seem destined to never deliver this exact same aspect.

Has to be said now I'm so used to it I'll also very much miss the winter ambience found in Origins, that lovely snow that parted as you walked through it and the general look was just realised so well and added a distinctive layer we've not seen in Batman games before.

 

there'd be too much road kill with everyone buzzing around in the mobile.
shame cause I always wanted to punch /kick /throw enemies off roofs like in AC4 but in batman it's forbidden.

note: not one civilian in any bf4 map.

Looks Unreal Engine-y for sure but the level of details is impressive.
