    Hello friends,

After a long time without playing games on my PC, due to use of a PS3 console, i gave the console to my daughter and decided to go back to PC.

So i upgraded my PC as follows:

    MB Asus M4A79-T Deluxe
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition processor
    4GB RAM DDR3 1600 (2 modules) -> upgraded to 12GB RAM (+2 4GB Modules)
    GPU Radeon HD 5850
HD upgraded to SSD Kingston SSDNow 240GB
    Windows 10, no virtual memory
TV Full HD Sony 40" Bravia

The problem is that i'm having a lot of stuttering (like little freeze) in games such as Far Cry 4 and Far Cry 3.

I have a video that i can't yet post here, but it is in my YouTube Channel (erkborges@gmail.com)

    /watch?v=1umB5ylRR3U

The interesting point is that either CPU and GPU are not in fully usage, with no overcloacking. CPU is getting around 80%, sometimes a little more, and GPU not passing 70% of usage. The FPS goes between 20 and 30, mostly just below 30.

What can it be??? I tested setting everything in low resolution/features, and no difference (slightly better). I'm getting crazy about that!!!

    Thanks to any help!

    Eduardo.

maybe you can try run these games with virtual memory enabled just in case, because as far as i know it is used for gaming even if you have a large amount of RAM (in your case, 12GB is more than enough to run these two games).

About Far Cry 4, try to disable v-sync and run the game on the lowest settings (everything on LOW or OFF). Your 5850 is a 5 year old card, will NOT handle the game even on medium settings without problems. Your CPU won't help either, and I know what i'm talking about, i have a x4 945.

    Its your entire PC.

5850 is 6-7 years old now as is the CPU.

For general use the PC is still good, gaming its at the minimum.

The 5850 has what 1GB of memory?

    5850 has 1GB GDDR5.

Your whole PC is much too underpowered for those games.

    Sorry.

Well, the interesting thing is that i just played Battlefield 4 pretty smooth with the same hardware... Amazing scenario and 3D scenes!

My system gives me 50-60 fps in Far Cry 4, and 40+ in every other game. All on the highest possible settings, 1080p.

Its your videocard. 1gb video memory is not enough. Upgrade that and you will be fine.

Enable VM and upgrade your GPU, OC'ing your CPU if you can wouldn't hurt either. You should be fine for most newer games after that.
