How can you judge a Driver before it comes out? -Nice hardware, that's a understatment. You may be right though, SOund card manufacturers seem to all suffere from the bad driver syndrom that's why I don't use Creative Labs drivers...I use KX..

Perhaps a candidate to replace my non compatible X-Fi with.

As far as it's drivers go, I can't imagine another company with worse driver support than Creative has.

This card is definatley a Candidate for the top spot for sure. I have been in contact with the company and they are keeping me up to date. When I get info I relay it to the forum. I am considering buying one also. This card will kick in either analog or digital mode. Has awsome recording capabilities. The SNR is very very nice. We will see it hit the market middle of June. I must say the picked a good time for release.

All the company told me is the mid-Late June. Certain companies have been getting Demos at convetions and such. Given the specs this card is something out of the next gen for sure.

Has there been any indication on what these will be priced at? I'm guessing we're looking at a $150-$250 (USD) soundcard here.

But to be honest, I'm willing to pay a premium for a top notch soundcard as long as it works with my system this time.

Those spec are alot better than any soundcard on the market right now including the X-fi. I haven't bee given a price range yet from the company but given their other products I would say you in the right ballpark.

if this sound's as good as the spec's say it should it will be the king of the consumer based Audio cards..with the X-fi a close second.

If not anything else i'd go for Dolby Headphone and Dolby Surround IIx.
Other specs are also kick ass. Still makes me wonder what kind of beast is Razer Barracuda AC-1. There's still no info on what APU will be used and stuff like that. Though i bet it'll be something high end from C-Media, as Creative doesn't license stuff like that to 3rd party companies.
So in the end capabilities should be same as with X-Purity.

This X-Purity model will be using the C-Media 8788 Chipset. The X-purity is designed to take full advatage of the chipsets features. There are alot of nice looking products coming to market this year..Not just X-fi or X-Purity.. Here's What I found about that model your mentioning, it seems they are selling it as card and surround headphones...

I play games with the explosion card and they sound great! I love my Explosion card too. Best thing I ever did was replace my Audigy card with this bad boy. I think I'm also gonna buy the X-purity.

I don't have any driver problems with my Auzentexh card. Haven't heard of any other users having issues either.

Are you just saying that you think this Purity card has too many features for the drivers to be reliable?

I think it has to do with th fact that some guys had issues with the drivers in the X-plosion. Drivers are drivers..some times the work most of the time they don't. Givent the crap driver support Creative offers, alot of people think all companies are the same. I think their drivers look very functional. I have never tested one out though. Not Yet! -I will
