Doesnt REALLY seem to have alot changed. I hope theres more to it then whats listed cuz I dont give a damn about Korean language issues or right click menu additions.

Just like 8.1 made my lag condition slightly better without mentioning it and then DanielKs pack seeming to further that effect, I hope this new 1.1s will continue this tend of improving my only glitch.....even if secretly -lol no mention in changelogs-

Not to piss and moan but if thats all th fixes they've hammered out in 5-6 months I'm not impressed at all. Maybe I should resume my X-Fi Forte driver project. I was tryin to graft as much of the then fresh forte driver into the prelude as possible without breakin it. Life came up and I moved away from the idea. If I end up infuriated enuf....it just might push me back into that crackpot project with renewed zeal

anyone with the MIC strobing/dalek effect tested them yet?

they say not for another couple of months :(

I'm not too impressed either. I still get the same problems in Fallout 3. Sound crackling without Alchemy, nice sound and frequent crashes with Alchemy. Yee-haa...

Might be an idea to mix and match DanielKs pack into the new driver. Alchemy works in that pack out of the box if I remember correctly. Could be possible to install the pack and then form control panel manually update the 1.1 drivers over the DanielK drivers. This way the THX \ Alchemy etc from the pack will all function but the latest driver will be pushing the card. This is somethin else I may try. Also, theres no reason this approach wouldnt work in Seven.

Sounds like a good idea. Do you have that pack installed, maybe even have the Alchemy version number handy?

I do have the pack installed and have played around swapping in and out various driver files from both the 8.1 RC and the Forte drivers -much less time spent on "bending" the forte drivers tho-

Sadly I cant give you any version info off the top of my head cuz I'm stuck at work. Fastest way I can direct you to that info is to get the pack yerself and see what version of ALchemy Daniel used. "X-Fi support 1.0" from google will get you to it. Avoid the 64 bit only pack.... nothin but problems for me with that one....although its slated to be disected and injected....so much to do....so lil time

    Zyro

EDIT: did some diggin.... from the 64 bit pack the included version of ALchemy is 1.20.04, my best shot in the dark is that this is the version in the support pack.....although it wasnt listed on the packs page here:
    http://forums.creative.com/creative...hread.id=135215&view=by_date_ascending&page=1

Maybe I got ALchemy from some other pack.... I was sure it was this one tho that got me up and running....

Oh an i found out why the 64 bit pack wasnt workin ofr me.... I was tired and had a few beers in me.... completly missed that the 64bit pack is intended for SB Xtreme Audio, Audigy Value/SE/LS & Live! 24-bit Not the X-Fi or Prelude :stewpid: sorry about that

the alchemy version within may still help you tho..... or the one I seem to think is in the X-Fi support pack i link above

Well, I am pissed about how little difference there is between drivers considering the length of time between releases. Regardless of Creative's 3-toed sloth approach to development and support.

In device manager, it still says version 6.0.1.1281. That number has been unchanged for a good long while, unless I'm doing something wrong.

this problem was not there on R7 drivers.. other than that they seem ok ..

    software update over driver ..

I just installed Daniel K's package over these drivers.
The drivers themselves were updated and the Alchemy definitely is a newer, better working version. THX console can't be installed separately, at least it refused to when I tried to before a full install :D
I'll have to check version numbers, at least this combination worked well for everything I threw at it so far.

In order to use winamp with asio, must i install asio4all + a winamp plugin, or is it enought to just install a winamp plug in? Because if i go to output plugins, i only see auzen output driver, and primary driver.

There's an asio plugin for winamp.

Well no, because the Prelude drivers have asio, but you need a plugin for winamp to use it properly. Asio is normally advantageous for latency in music production, but I think it also directly accesses the hardware, possibly giving better sound quality. Not really sure.

Help! No auxiliary sound although signal can be seen?

    Hello,

maybe someone can help me with this problem...

I have a source connected to the auxiliary-in of the Auzen X-Fi Prelude soundcard, and the spdif-out of the card is connected to my dolby digital receiver (Cambridge Soundworks DTT3500) via optical cable. Problem is: I can see the signal of the auxiliary-source reaches the soundcard, since the EQ shows the amplitude, but it's not being played via my speakers. Listening to mp3s, watching movies with sound etc. all work fine (even without dolby digital live enabled), the only thing that won't work is getting that signal from the aux-source routed to my speakers. why is that? I can even record the signal from the aux-in and listen to it afterwards, works great – it's just that I can't hear it while its coming in. Thank you in advance! :)

    Sincerely
    Noggli

The audio had problems with just the winamp plugin, so i had to install asio4all too.
Anyway, i DON'T hear ANY difference. Anyone who tried asio with the prelude who can confirm this?
Some people say they hear nice differences with other sound card and ASIO, i can't hear any...
