Hello Ray, I have been using ATT for quite some time now with now problems at all, and recently I have been having a Java problem, where my Java errors out and any program using java will now work, I have narrowed it down to ATT. If I uninstall ATT everything is fine. So I am in a pickle if you know what I mean in order to use the things that use java I have to uninstall ATT. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks, Chad

it seems strange cause everything worked fine until I reimaged my machine and started using the newest version of ATT, now I get this same error but only when ATT is running.

I have no problems with java.
Why do you think this is related to ATT?

Well I image my computer, then I installed all available updates to Vista, all of my drivers are up to date. Then I install ATT, everything installs fine. Once I install java, the install goes fine, but once I start to use programs that use java, like limewire and so on, I get the error. So I wrestled around with settings for a while with no luck, so I reimaged the computer and I get the same error. So I reimaged it again, but this time I installed java before ATT, and Java worked fine. Once I installed ATT java errors out every time, and so does my windows dvd maker program. When I go to the lower right system tray and exit out of ATT, everything functions correctly. If I start ATT back up I get errors everytime. I don't see how it can't be ATT. In the error that I posted in previous reply it says the fault module is msvcr71.dll. So I guess that ATT uses this file in some way that makes other programs error out, that is all I can come up with. But hey you are a lot more knowledgeable on this topic than I am, I am just trying to let you know my findings on this matter. I would appreciate any help you can give.

    P.S.
I have also tried latter versions of ATT and all of the ones starting with 1.6 give the same error. I have also tried later versions of Java. Same thing.

    Thanks,
    Chad

I was wondering if anyone can tell me how to create a profile without any game executables selected. I do not want to do any overclocking, just want to have a profile for my fan settings so as not to have to manually change them every time I restart my computer. Or is there a file to edit some where that I can change the settings to what I want. Thanks for any help.

This is for cwhowell. I don't know what your problems is but the file msvcr71.dll is a .net framework file from microsoft. I have had a few errors involving that file. If you install the .net framework 2.0 or above, this file doesn't get used or referenced or whatever anymore and can cause some errors. I don't know if that is your issue or not but thought I would pass that on. Also :::( this is for winxp )( I don't have vista )

Hi you may have to rename Msvcr71 dll
Close all programs>start Windows Explorer>scroll down to c:\ windows folder.
    Locate Msvcr71.dll
    Right click>Msvcr71.dll>Rename...Msvcr71..old
    Copy new Msvcr71 dll into c:\ windows\system
    Reboot.
Also you nay need to register the dll file.
    start>run>type..regsvr32 msvcr71.dll >enter.

With ATT rev.1374 and catalyst 8.12

    I see some problem :

    - Fan regulation is not linear :
    0% = fan at stop
    1% = quiet
    from 2% to 40% = loudest
    from 40% to 50% = more loudest
from 50% to 100% = il it becomes linear

    - Stating ATT Bench : not working, 3 errors :

[IMG] = "no openGL texture compression support, please update driver"

[IMG] = "no GLSL support found, please update driver. Benchmark can't execute"

Could you update ATT to support HD4830 ?

    Thank you

I just installed the latest ATT beta on Vista x64 and ATT seems to have no effect - there are no errors, but things like FPS display or vertical sync settings don't seem to work. If I run "Low Level Driver Installation" shortcut from ATT's Start Menu folder, it reports that the driver is installed, but not started. Pressing the Start button has no effect.

I know about Vista's driver signing, but I thought that the latest beta had a workaround for this problem? I did not get any errors at all at any point, UAC is off. Is this normal or am I missing a step?

I created a Game profile and everything, with the same end result.
I'm trying to force vertical sync ON for a Direct3D8 application in Windows Vista Business x64.

Thank you in advance for any help!

Yes it has. Just run ATT. Low Lewel Driver Installation will not work.

Vista doesn't have global VSync option any more. But forcing it in game profile must work. But not for 64 bit games.

    Hello-

I have a X1900 and X1900CF setup which I am having a lot of trouble getting the second card to OC to the 3D profile with either CCC or ATT. I'm running Vista x64 and the latest beta of ATT. I do not see an "apply to both cards/cores" option under overclocking control. Does this mean these cards are unsupported? Crossfire is enabled and working fine.

Any Catalyst driver release since 8.9 has had the same problem with automatic profile switching, I'm just looking for a way to get up to at least the 3D speeds on both cards. Thanks.

ATT support only HD 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx boards in CrossFire configuration.

    Thanks for your response!

I tried forcing Vertical Sync for say Counter-Strike 1.6 in Direct3D mode and that seems to have no effect. I tried using the following as the start shortcuts:

    "D:\Program Files (x86)\Ray Adams\ATI Tray Tools\atitray.exe" /loadgame "Half-Life Launcher"

    That executes \counter-strike\hl.exe file.

I set all the D3D tweaks:

and saved the profile as Half-Life Launcher.

Any idea what I am doing wrong?

//Edit: I had an idea and turned on D3D "reversed rendering order" in Counter-Strike 1.6 via console command gl_d3dflip 1. As soon as I did that, I saw the ATT fps counter and vertical sync was applied. :)

Thank you for all the help!

P.S. If others are having the same problem, I hope this post can be of some help :)

    Appreciate the quick response Ray.

Any clues as to why ATI dropped support for the automatic clock switching for crossfire in later driver releases?

Sanek - I can not test it with old CS 1.6 so have no idea is it works or not.
Are you sure you put proper .exe file into game profile? And why you start game from ATT's shortcut? No needs to do this. Just register hl.exe (including full path) and run game from particular shortcut. ATT will detect it and automatically apply all appropriate options.

    Who told you that?

I fixed it, it works now.

The solution that made it work is to turn on gl_d3dflip option in Counter-Strike which uses a "reversed rendering order" for Direct3D. I can see the fps counter and vertical sync gets applied correctly now. All works great :)

Thanks again for all the help :)
