It does look great and somewhat different so it will be fine.I will buy it and I am sure I will not regret the purchase like some I made in the last few months
I will wait for some actual player responses. Not reviews.... but real feedback from people. And even then, it's a Game Pass title, so if I do decide to play it... will get it there so I'm not dropping 60 bucks on something just in case.
I picked up the Atomic Heart Founders Edition at the beginning of 2019 for €70 (which I guess will be converted to the Premium Edition); seeing the prices now I'm glad I bought it then :O
So... the game looks, visually, fantastic. But, gameplay... combat... what the hell even is the game? The trailers do not do a good job showing it, combat in some clips looks really bad. Like, enemies don't react to being hit or shot. And the boss fight video they released, the boss is incredibly well animated and looks great. But the video just made it look like a chore.
This game is released? I been wanting this game but after the screenshots not sure now.LOL looks like wolfenstein which is fine with me. Now going to check my steam wishlist emails. Not sure how I missed this release. EDIT:OK not released for 3 more months on steam ,I can wait
He's Doom/wolfenstein Hero to save the day, with Destiny2 powers+weapons style and overall I think they nailed it. Ok maybe very close combat looked a bit like Dying Light, but Im sure it's faster. ps no boss is not a chore, you have the magic and skillz, do your own thing. Speaking from my long D2 expereince.. some bosses are a real chore even in 6, but it's so much more rewarding when you finally beat it , especially if there is good loot!
Some insight, apparently in bad condition. From October 19th. https://dtf-ru.translate.goog/u/192..._sl=ru&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=de&_x_tr_pto=wapp
I didn't say the boss was a chore, I said the video made it look like a chore. That video did not make the boss look fun to fight. Ten minutes of the player barely doing any damage and dying over and over. Looked more tedious then fun. And, the music felt so out of place. And, I can't judge the combat because they've yet to give a proper, long gameplay video to really let people get a feeling for the combat. But, a couple videos show the player swinging slow, heavy looking melee weapons into enemies... hitting them, yet the enemies don't show any signs of being hit. There's little to zero feedback at all.
I did not read the entire article thoroughly but this is exactly what I was thinking about the game. I did not know for certain development was "rebooted" but you could see it over the years, the long radio silence between a trailer and another was pretty much eloquent. It's clear to me they did not have a consistent vision of the whole and exact goals. It was more like "let's throw everything in the pot and see what comes out of it".
inspiration taken from bioshock \ singularity .. and some vampire bloodlines, from what iv seen so far. strange looking game.
I'm more thinking that that's ALOT of emphasis on combat for an open world game... too much for my taste...
