So I thought I'd update my drivers and ATT... I uninstalled the Tray Tools via a clean uninstaller utility (Revo Uninstaller) Then the Catalyst 8.10 (without CCC) via Software panel. Then I booted into Windows Safe Mode and deleted driver remainings with Driver Sweeper. After that I cleaned the registry with CCleaner. Then I installed 8.12 (without CCC again) in regular Windows. I rebooted and installed ATT 1.6xxx Beta. But it won't work! The symbol appears in the tray but if my mouse goes over it, it vanishes! It worked fine before! I reverted then to 8.10 and ATT 1.5xxxx which worked fine but now it won't run either. Man I want my ATT back, I don't like Rivatuner. Have you tried a clean uninstallation of riva tuner? (even registry) Are you sure CCleaner gives proof that all unwanted entires are removed? (log file) Last ditch hope may be removal all residuals via a disk format and windows reinstallation.
Windows reinstallation is scheduled for next week (Christmas, new Mainboard ) And why are you talking about Riva Tuner? I did not intend to use it, because I find ATT much more confortable. If you meant ATT then yes, I always perform clean deinstallations. 1. I use a clean uninstall utility called Revo Uninstaller and then I used CCleaner to sweep over the files and Registry. I don't think there are any remainings.
I may have misunderstood from previous posts. You had rivatuner at some point in time and ATItray stopped working, I presume. If that is the present situation, the question is there any remnants of rivatuner left in the system? How was it removed? (uninstalled?)
Nono you got me wrong, I used ATT 1.5xxx Beta with 8.10 Catalyst. Then I wanted to update to 8.12 Catalyst and 1.6xxx ATT. But then it stopped working. I just mentioned that I don't like RT because I don't want anyone to say "use Rivatuner instead".
