So that 28nm Radeon HD6800 rumor wasn't over-the-top. It looks like my 260 SLI won't be replaced by Fermi in such case.
I don't expect them to switch when 5000 series cards are still good. However it's good to see they try to be prepared *cough*Fermi yields*cough*. I'd also like to see more Radeons (GeForces too) in notebooks, and 28nm process may make it easier.
The 6000 series is rumoured to be out by march 2011 but other has said it will be before xmas this year! I doubt that very much unless the yields prove to be even better than their current 32nm (or 55nm whatever they are on atm, sorry but im stoned and cant remember which one they are on lol). This way if they are better and produce better results they might even release a 5000 series refresh using this 22nm (if this is possible) bringing us higher clocks and lower temps to make the 5 series last a little longer.
