I know this is a very old card but i need it in my vintage computer. I have really searched for drivers but i found none. The video card controller hasn't any driver in 7. Only a screen resolution of 1024.

    32bit or 64bit Windows 7?

    Try this one:
    https://files.aoaforums.com/F3573-8-4_vista32_dd_ccc_wdm_enu_61008.exe

If driver installer doesn`t recognize the card try installing the drivers manually via Device Manager, but previously unpack the driver exe with 7Zip.

Not sure but I think manuall driver install via Device Manager should do the trick with latest 10.2 Windows Vista drivers too, with previously unpacked exe of course.

    Edit
Few more drivers to try, these 8.561.0.0 are the latest official Windows 7 drivers for Radeon 9600/9700 series cards taken from Windows Drivers Catalogue. Try these first, manual install via Device Manager, unpack *.cab file first.

    found these
    https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=ati 8.593

the 2 windows 7 drivers listed have all of the old cards in the inf, and its version is analogous to the legacy driver for vista on amd's website, the smaller one will be 32bit and the larger one 64bit,

probably left over from the win 7 beta period as they are very early and predate the win7 RTM build. no control panel included. so it would have to be installed separately

I have Windows 7 32 and need drivers for Vista ultimate 32 to. I tried Milojko. But it says the latest drivers already are installed. Radeon 9250 XDDM. This card should be Rv280 256mb. I only got 1.0 in Windows experience. I got latest direct X to.

Are you able to manually install the driver via device manager?

The driver you want is 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc

Use 7-Zip to extract the video card drivers into a folder.

Open Device manager > Display adapter > right click you're video card > Update driver > Browser my computer for driver software > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer

The next page should have a [Have Disk...] button, click it, now select "Browse", now look for the extracted driver that you created with 7-Zip, then click Packages > Drivers > Display

Now there are two folders LH_INF & LH6A_INF I'm not entirely sure which one but my gut is telling me LH6A_INF, open that and select the .inf it will be the only file visible, CH_95951

Then click OK, and fingers crossed, it should see the driver, if not it will give you a warning message that it did not see a driver.

I'm just using my system as an example of where to look, hope this helps.

I have checked dxdiag and it shows up Radeon 9250 with 128mb. I have direct X 10 in Vista and my Windows experience index result only gets 1.0. Isn't this rv280 on 256mb?

ATI Radeon 9250 is a DirectX 8.1 part, the newest driver available for it is Windows XP from what I can tell, someone correct me if I am wrong.

Maybe you would be better off just installing XP?

Can Windows XP drivers be installed on Windows 7? or even Vista? I have no idea honestly....

I can't install 10-2_legacy_vista32-64_dd_ccc I got the system file is not suitable fro running ms-dos... So i guess this graphic card only can handle direct X 8? My Nvidia GeForce 5200 128mb works way better.

I will try soon. I have another old card Nvidia GeForce 420mx. It works better i can play mpeg4 720p with 30fps smooth but there are strange colors purple and some texture with h264. My Radeon could not play 720p. The Nvidia could have 1280 * 1024 in 16bit. I only have win 7 standard drivers for Nvidia.

DXdiag reporting XDDM does indicate it's using the ATI driver, otherwise Windows 7 should be reporting it as using the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver.

Although at least Vista/Win7 typically did support XP drivers, you really wanted a DX9 card with WDDM 1.0 drivers for using it.

Assuming you have a 9600 as well though, there's indeed a WDDM 1.0 Vista driver for that, and there's no reason it shouldn't be working on Win7 too.
A WDDM 1.0 driver, chances are it'll work ok with Win10 too.

I tried inf CH_95951 for Display adapters. The folder you specified dosen't contain a compatible software driver...I did find the WDDM driver from Microsoft for Video controller but not for display adapters. I tried the other folder and found it. Many thanks for the help. ATI Radeon 9600 / X1050 Series Secondary. Now i got: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43). I can't change resolution to 1280*1024. Out of range Vf max is 75 and in Win 7 it is 87

I can have 1280 * 1024 on my other Nvidia 64mbit so it can't be the screen limit.
