Hi Guys, i found this interesting read. http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ATI/R5XX/
Looks like ATI sided benchmarks. We will see. But I know ATI will probably own nVIDIA since their cards are released later.
Ya, looks like an all ATI site. No real benches just percentages. no system specs. Not much to go by
only bla bla...
doesnt look impressive to me...
all crap to me too... lets see benches, but im sure the X1800 series will out perform the 7800series ONLY CUZ THEY HAD A 6MONTH SETBACK which cuz they cant make technology on time, and the yield for these things will be very low, so have fun buyin one when they come out
At the end of the day, even if they have more FPS, they still have the same half ass attempt for a decent driver.
VPU recoveries galore and crashes to desktop.
Not to mention the poor attempt to copy SLI, called "Crossfire". I am not changing mobos and putting dongles on my PC to just play 1600x1200 @60Hz.
I doubt 1 x1800 is going to beat 2x7800GTX on SLI. Too bad for ATI fans.
Those are ATI sell sheet slides so those benchmarks came from ATI...
I suggest you just wait for the reviews to hit the internet, you have less than a day to wait.
Wow! So a x1300pro is going to beat a 6600 non-GT on some fronts, but it'll cost a lot more, I bet a 6600GT will beat this card hands down and it will be a lot cheaper when this card comes out! You can find a 6600GT for less than 130Euro and seeing that this card will cost $149, it wil cost around 200Euro overhere.
I also noticed what they did on the "sell sheets." First off on the XI800 slide they placed the XI800XL on there twice at different perfortmance levels, what's that all about? What they also did was crank the crap out of the quality and made it use too much video RAM. Basically they made it so that there cards do better because they have more RAM. I mean Doom 3 at 1600x1200 with 4xaa and 8xaf, most likely a maximum quality, maybe Ultra quality. Which card do you think is going to win, a 256MB card or a 512MB card? They did the same thing for the lower end sector. They put games at 1280x1024 4xaa and 8xaf and compared apples to oranges again.
Pretty much I'm saying that those stats may be correct, but may not be an accurate comparison of the video cards. And why should it, they came from ATI. I can't say nVidia does any better on that, though.
... and if we stick to the nice color-code nVidia->Green, ATI -> Red, since when is a GeForce 6600 from ATI?!?
And ATi once again shows a prefect way to compate Apples and Oranges (as Alexstarfire said) 6600 is "last-gen" against a X1300 Pro which should be "next-gen" and therefore outperfom it easyly, which btw. isnt the case that clearly!
Why is this in the nVidia forums?
Because there comparing nvidia cards to the R520.
