RBE automatically ticks the shader box for you, if you read the instructions that the original poster wrote and the sticky at the top of this sub forum properly and carefully you should be fine.

The shaders box is only ticked when the modded bios file is loaded, otherwise it has to be selected manually...

I have just loaded all 3 of my bios files into RBE (v1.28), the 2 original bioses (unaltered in any way) and the third (shaders unlocked) and all three have 6970 shader count already selected, try it for yourself m8.

    I already have.
In your case the shaders were prob unlocked at the factory....:)

It even says in the original post of this thread you have to manually select the 6970 shaders option:

so you are saying both my bioses on my card are unlocked new, including bios 1?

as i said in my previous post ALL of my bios files have the dot in the shader count box without me touching it, maybee its just a quirk but its definately selected for them all even though i have only altered one of them.

and that would explain why some peoples shaders apear to be unlocked in RBE and not in gpu-z.

If it wasnt a post on this forum i read about the auto selection it was definately shown as pre selected on a you tube video.

    hi guys

just registered here to say, that i just needed to switch the bios to get the unlocked shaders

    (hd 6950 dirt 3 edition)

i overclocked it via ccc (catalyst control center) to 840/1325, without changing anything else.

i will try it to overclock it now with trixx to 900/1325
is this ok? do i have to increase the voltage?

btw the bios switch is really, really, really small :p

^I'd say no, but overclock it first then if it's unstable bump up the voltage.

If temps are under control then it's safe up to about 1.3v, but if using stock aircooling probably safer to stay below 1.25v.

Upto about 1.25v max if temps allow it.

    I think he meant 1.125v, but I've had mine running at 1.15v. Currently I'm using 1.1v @880/1350

If yours has the custom cooler with 6 heatpipes and dual fans then you should be safe, but no point in raising voltage higher than is absolutely necessary.

    i'm at testing - BF3 makes a great stresstester i usually get around 65°C OCed - i assume around 70°C is safe

    yes, I am :p

MSI afterburner allows up to 1.3v, I used to bench at 1.27v with stock aircooling.

Trixx allows 1.3v same as msi afterburner, maybe it's because you have a non-reference card? seems unlikely though.

yes.. I noticed, doesn't mean I know exactly what settings your card allows in sapphire trixx...

oh and Pill monster, once you go over 900 on the core you need massive amounts of voltage.

^Trixx only allows 1.18 on my card also.....:3eyes:

What's the max voltage you can get on yours using Trixx?
