Here here to that, I am glad i was to lazy as well.
Hi All. I just found you while googling for my own MOM problem. When I boot up, I get an error box that says
"MOM (0xc0000135) failed to initialize properly" When I click on 'close' on that error message, it goes away and everything moves along normallly.
While I was searching I found this: Catalyst® 7.3 Display Driver for Windows Vista (32 bit) at http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/common-vista32.html if anyone's interested.
My question is, if I revert to the 7.1 drivers, how do I get rid of the 7.2 drivers on there now? I'm running XP.
Try DriverCleaner, that normally does a pretty good job of deleting old drivers. I think it's available for download on the good old guru3ds download section, i'll find a link...
I think that's it. Good luck with your problems everyone.
april fools right?
PLEASE TELL ME IT IS A JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ARGH I WANT TO KILL YOU
I NEARLY HAD AN HEART ATTACK!!!!!
IT IS AN APRIL FOUL-.-"
"The MOM.exe are all those extra "cli.exe" and other processes in just one. I think that´s why it seems bigger than before. Each and every cli.exe used to be ~ 0.5-1.5mb and the mom.exe was about 3-4mb when i had it installed.
This is what the beta tester 'spyre' said about it in the thread about the 7.2 drivers over at rage3d;
So there shouldnt be any worries about this being any form of spyware.
lol i just reverted to my ATI RADEON Xpress 200 cuz my nvidia is on the fritz right now and when i saw MOM.exe i almost had a heart atack
Thanks Preachergeek - Much appreciated.
Yea i was freaked out also. Is this a joke or real?
Well look at the date.....
My credit card thing definitely wasn't a joke, but it was probably just a coincidence.
it can't be ati's fault cause by now ati would have closed.
probably for having orefound all the persons that lost money because of the keylogger
and btw mom.exe is present in drivers 7.2 and 7.3 it is a part of the new catalyst control center.
the fact it is called mom.exe is just a coincidence.
in the first page there is also another prog called mom.exe
I'll just stick with the old.
I was googling up this MOM.exe thing after I updated my ATI display driver to this Catalyst Control. That's stupid of them to name the CCC Monitoring Application the same name as the keylogging spyware. so according to you, morfeus02, both 7.2 and 7.3 have this MOM.exe in it. If so, I'd rather be safe and revert back to 7.1 without it. I'm glad their are friends like all of you that are on top of this. Heck, I thought I was in trouble. Does anyone know where I can get the 7.1 driver?
ATi knew about the MOM.exe in CCC 7.2, they wouldn't release 7.3 if MOM.exe was a problem....
jusafriend - go here and fill in the model info, etc. and from the next page you can click an "older drivers" list which includes 7.1
MOM Implementation problem
I'm getting the MOM Implementation thing, but when I went to delete ATI catalyst control center, in remove programs, nothing happens(I get sys exe error program has to close.)The icon showing next to ATI catlyst control center is the nod 32 antivirus icon (little green&white square)Shouldnt it be a ATI icon?Anybody help?::
so many words and names used by other companies...
hi, I know maybe someone will get their guts out with this, but think about this:
with so many names and words and acronyms used by other companies, how would any company would keep a record of a bad use of it, i have 7.3 catalyst too, and I also freaked out with the MOM.exe thing... but lets calm down and try to think better, does this has been reported as a problem (a real problem, slow machine behavior, a real charge on "many" users credit cards, other kind of behavior reported by many users, not just 1 or 2.... more..... etc...), so after we can get answers on that, lets not get angry with this companies....
Be happy and research more
Maybe its just misconception of information
Well, after thinking really deeply, gotta go.... nice day all !!!!
i had the same problem having installed a Stripped down Win XP Lite - i was missing M$ Frameworks 2.0 that Catalyst asks for at the start of installation.
So if you have installed your ATI drivers i recommend you uninstall your 7.2 or 7.4 now drivers and install framework 2.0.
The link below to the .net framework ver 2.0
Once installed then reboot and reinstall ATI 7.2/7.4.
For dose that do not know yet Catalyst 7.4 for XP and Vista is out.
Once this done my (MOM.EXE) pop up message disappeared.
Maybe some of your think you have Frameworks 2.0 running correct and thats why you don't bother reinstalling or checking to see if thats the problem.
ATI MOM.exe a CPU HOG
I sure hope someone get's the just on this MOM.exe file soon.
I am tired of reinstalling drivers for this card. So many times they fail.
I am now using the latest driver and MOM.exe is taking up to 52% of my processing power every time I use the TV function.
Any word yet, enyone?
Followed your instructions, and seems to be working fine again.
Still my Firfox is slagging abit as I scroll down, not sure if this is connected somehow, but at least I am rid of that annoying error msg "Mom.exe" :smoke:
Discovered (using pcpitstop.com) that by turning off hardware acceleration completely the text scrolling now runs smoothly again.
Don`t feel comfortable though, leaving it completely off so I am experimenting a bit my turning it on, notch by notch.
