My PC rebooted twice while playing Batman Arkham Asylum......temps were perfectly fine, GPU core was 60C while memory and shader cores were @ 70C, CPU was only at ~45C.....no clue what caused it, it only happened twice and the crashes were within 5 minutes of gameplay of each other. After the second crash it has not happened again after hours more of gameplay. I run a 650w PSU, very high quality...90% efficiency, quad 12-volt rails, etc, and even putting both GPU and CPU under full load I only pull about 450-500w (measured through my 1kw UPS), and the game does not pull that kind of load off my computer....maybe 400w max while playing.

One of the parts was kind of scary......happened during the first boss fight with Scarecrow, he saw me and the second he killed me my monitors went blank. :p

Haven't played it on 9.8s but there was no bluescreen data or anything, it acts like it lost power (yet its the only game that has done this and my PSU still has plenty of power output before I should have to worry about that being the issue).

I dont have any artifacts in games or freezes, using Win 7 Ultimate.

What games do you have problem with, please tell us so we know.

I play many old and new games.

bought a new card and i thought downloading and installing the lastest drivers would be a good idea..random crashes...artifacts in windows..and not games haha...the driver keeps crashing and reloading..system crashes after logging out and logging back..same stability at the default 625mhz and at 700mhz..thought there was something wrong with the card..by far the worst drivers since the ones that came on the installation disk with my x800:S

This drivers hates 4850's, for some reason, roll back to 9.8

Ok I uninstalled 9.9 and moved back to 9.8 and no more system lock ups.
Tried running RE5 benchmark and while I was walking the dog it managed to still lock up system completely, but other than that everything is now very stable, including desktop apps and games. I don't know what is the chance of RE5 locking up again as did not run it again, but at least there are no more lock ups in desktop like there were with 9.9

No, it's not. I'm having no issues whatsoever. Smooth performance.

*EDIT* - On second thought, after seeing that review, I'm rolling back XD

    gone back to 9.8

9.9 gave me corruption when some games started , multi colours.

random freezing in games (mostly re5, 5-10 mins)

mini ninjas broken(crash to desktop) , and many games shadow corruption.

9.8 is perfect for me, no freezing..

    this is 4870x2 win7 64bit

Strange i've had no problems or lock ups with 9.9 drivers on Win 7 64bit and Win XP 32bit.

Currently playing Re5/Bionic Commando/Gears of War/Wolfenstein/Batman zero issues

not games, like i said system instability using 9.8 works perfect so it had to be 9.9.

For me 9.9 improved my Gpu performance. I score 10k with just my 4870 alone on vantage with 9.9 while i used to get around 9.2 with 9.8.

RE5 bench mark did not hang unlike 9.8 and even with the 9.8 hotfix it hung. Yup, 9.9 is better for me.

Here is my vantage score with 9.9 on windows 7. Really amazing. Hit 22k on tri fire and only a core 2 duo cpu.

Hit 73 fps on 2nd test but 1st test had 56fps, even though it's not that even but it's still very cool.:banana:

I remember i scored like around 21.3k on vista 64 with 9.9 so it's like over 700 pts improvement.

I get some stuttering in quake wars but after a few mins it dies down, left 4 dead had a looping sound pause but didnt crash thankfully

although resident evil 4 for no reason just stopped displaying and i had to turn the machine off and on, think i will roll back to 9.8 too
