You also get a big performance hit, not to mention that in UE3 games forcing AA requires around 16x to get the same effect of AA being set to 4x in a game that natively supports it.

try the BOX DETECT option. that might give you more than AAx4 when enabled with less of a perfomance hit. :)

anybody with 4800 series ati cards these 9.9 drivers give a real boost to vantage scores a few hundred points , i don't think they make much difference in the other 3dmarks but in vantage they fly

Working well with my HD 4870 X2, no complaints or real praises, they just work.

To fix RE5, turn off motion blur or AA. Setting both on hoses it.

Here is a RE5 review where they asked Capcom why ATI cards are slower in DX10. Capcom replied back saying there is no benefit to using DX10 over DX9 unless you want to use Geforce 3D Vision glasses which requires DX10.

Looks like I'll be sticking to DX9 for this one.

i only have probs with the 64bit problem, dont know if that has anything to do with the motion blur or aa. im not going back to 9.7 since 9.9 seems to be awesome for me! just htis 64bit re5 problem hehe :)

installed 9.9, ill park anno 1404 for a while :p. will test performance and also if i have that problem (btw it wasnt happening in the downloadable benchmark b4)

okay 9.9 decreased performance in dx9 benchmark but dx10 benchmark is higher than 9.7 so :/

and im not having the 64bits+motion+4x AA problem :S

PD: I am the only one who thinks that this game's camera/controls is utterly crap?

What about stuttering when playing streaming videos (ie youtube)? Anyone know what causes this and if there is a solution?

Has anyone else noticed less system stability?
My Vista system was very stable before but now sometimes it just locks up and stops working.

It Should add to the color depth, its hardly to see any difference but might on advanced levels where there are more shadows or black areas or might sunnier places, although i always like to use something higher 64bit>32bit always wins.

    C:\Users\x7007\Documents\CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\config.ini

Bhaa on Nvidia i dont think they have this problem HDR + Motion Blur, i love this thing in games like this, it adds to the horror :eek:ver:

Has anyone noticed that with 9.9 the 2nd GPU after exiting a 3D game does not go back down to 2D clock speeds?

I have noticed some random slow downs lasting just a few moments in Resident Evil 5! And judging from cards fan spinning down at these moments it probably downclocks to 2d mode.

Ok my system just booted to desktop and locked up without displaying any errors again
I sure hope it's drivers or software related and not hardware :(
    Will go back to 9.7
If this fixes the problems it wilt be the first time I had any instability because of Catalyst drivers
