finally off from 10.5a
all great here
Use rivatuner or GPU-z (for the latter, open up two instances and set each on a different GPU by using the tab at the bottom).
Anyway, I have perfect CF with ALL games using TwL's 10.5a-based v3.50 driver, FYI, all 4870x2 users.
Physx Fluidmark down 2-3000 points from 10.5a? Damn,...
That's true but by default the game runs on two GPUs in CrossFireX with diminished performance. That means you either have to create a profile to disable CrossFireX in RadeonPro or ATI Tray Tools or mess around disabling it through the CCC then re-enabling it when you exit the game. Not exactly ideal.
An application profile update to force the game to run on one GPU until ATI can get it working optimally with two would be better. I thought that was what the separate application profiles were for but ATI certainly aren't taking advantage of them as we STILL get new ones at the same bloody time as the drivers. If they're doing that then they may as well have left the profiles as part of the monthly drivers!!!
I still see posts now and again from people who are confused about the whole application profile thing asking if they're already installed with the drivers or need to be installed separately. Some information and clarification on the ATI website wouldn't go amiss IMO.
Thanks MerolaC for tweeting that. i use the profile change and afterburner to get my clocks right. i click AB then profile then AB and works fine for OCing.
I spoke to EA about BFBC2 and they said it was optimized for 32 bit systems and change the compatibility to vista sp2. it finally works great with no crash. im using 10.8 beta5 which i love for my 4870x2. try that ale. it doesnt seem to be a driver issue just that they made the game badly. my 2 cents.
Retarded driver team is retarded :wanker:
Won´t even bother installing them.
AA and AF are still broken since 10.7 if i enable CatAI ...
So, what's with AA in SC2? Is it in the same half-assed state as in 10.7 hotfix?
Downloading now, will report feedback.
Which games? AF doing fine for me.
Also thank you MerolaC,
although i reckon (counts on fingers) 3 whql releases is enough to seem suspicious - although not really if it affects 5970 users..maybe its a functional thing after 10.5a?
so Bad company 2 performe still better on 10.5a ...? I am running 5870 CF. 10.6, 10.7 fps about 50-80 but with 10.5a I get about 130 constantly.thanks
You guys ever thought it could be your hardware or something else that is causing you problems with games? I mean i never have any trouble with games anymore, with ati cards or nvidia cards, and the only time i did was when i was using Suck ass PCI cards or because of my past hardware i was using in the past. Also OC could be a problem which i always believe, i think it sometimes makes matters worse, i mean there is nothing wrong with stock settings.
I plan to buy a 5670 soon, HIs ice edition, and i am pretty sure i won't have any game trouble whatsoever.
@The General - not BFBC2, nothing to do with hardware. The only ATI driver that does it right is 10.5a. 10.6 and 10.7 break the game. Haven't tried 10.8 yet.
So, our hardware is fine, it's the software that's broke.
Scaling options dont stick in thease drivers same as beta .... one restart and pufff back to default back to 10.7
Is CF now working on GTA IV?
try to create a custom resolution
if you want to play at 1920x1080
create a custon resolution = 1904x1080
this way I am playing PoP FS with full scaling on my plasma FHD TV
In comparison with 10.6;
3DMark 06 is down by about 100 points, not much
Mafia II seems to run a little smoother
All in all, these look like a good set, will post more benchies soon .
Well in Batman AA with 10.5a i got an ave of 167 FPS but with 10.8 i get an ave 143 FPS.
Please fire the entire Cat team ATI !
