Here's the official line on the need for uninstalling the old drivers. Hopefully this will put an end to those tiresome safemode/driversweeper obsessives:

    Lol...just lol...

I love how everyone is now "hating" ATI cause they didnt get their 1fps increase in games lmao.

EDIT : Guy above me..so true. Driver sweepers are really stupid now. Years ago yes but not anymore.

I *never* uninstall old versions of drivers for the same cards, I've always installed over the top of existing ones. My argument is that the installer should be properly coded so it removes what isn't needed and installs what is. Nice to see that ATI adhere to this policy. :)

Remove what isnt needed? Dude most of the time the new drivers every month just "overwrite" the old files. There is never any files removed or added from the driver packages.

Doesn't appear to be a way of linking directly to the scoring. Unless someone can tell me otherwise!

No one is forcing you to use the newest drivers.

What the hell are these stupid idiots at ATI doing?
Now with cat 10.5 the long loading time in BC2 is back.
    2D bug is also back.
After 8 years with ATI cards, this is my last one.
My card is an ATI HD 4870X2

Yeah the long load times are back, but you make it seem as if Nvidia is perfect. Neither are, don't kid yourself thinking either one is flawless.

BC2 doesn't seem to run as well either, back to 10.4a for me.

Just tried them, they are. Went from 9 seconds on 10.4a to 20+
