Don't use Furmark unless you plan on abruptly buying a new GPU.
Thanks for the reply and yup, I know
But with it sitting at 400 / oc mem clock, it takes my idle temps up, not bothered as I got 8 case fans, I just upped the wick a bit on the case fans controller to bring the card temps back down a bit.
I dont wind the 5970's own fan up much coz it sounds like bloody Airwolf doing a fly by.
The 400 / oc mem clock at idle is actually working quite well for me, I play Oblivion quite a bit which doesn't stress the 5970 at all, so it would quite often drop its clocks during gameplay and I'd get a screen flicker, doesn't happen now so I'm fairly happy.
Only thing I've got to beef about is that it unhooked fan control and fan speed monitoring from Afterburner and I cant for the life of me get it back.
Since installing 10.5 my crossfire wont work, tryed installing drivers twice but still a no no, think i will roll back to 10.4
Why did you have to re-install windows?
Are there any modified mobility 10.5 yet?
For laptops like sony and such?
I tried all fixes that i knew, nothing worked so had to reinstall, its all in my OP.
anyone have the weird flickering of icons, writing and other stuff for a couple of minutes after you turn on the pc? you see it well on the writing of the icons..cause i read that they fixed this stupid issue by raising the 2D clocks, but the 2D clocks are the same and so is the weird flickering.
Did you try the Restore Factory Defaults option in the CCC?
10.5 mobility for sony and others
And working great!!
Got a backup machine with a pci 1650, haven't updated drivers in awhile and don't see them listed for these 10.5.
Anyone know the newest drivers I can use for a 1650 pci?
Thanks for any tips.
Hey found a fairly new Legacy driver dated 2/2010 for anyone else looking.
Yes i tried EVERYTHING. Im not new to the PC scene.
He was talking about the World Cup.
Hi, this is my first post and I'd like to say that 10.5 and 10.5 hotfix messed up my system.
Seemed to overheat soon as I entered a game and crashed the whole computer. Running an HD4870 x2.
Had to get rid of all traces of ati driver files and revert to 10.4 preview drivers.
Has anyone else with a HD4870 x2 had any problems with cat 10.5's?
Is it worth to install 10.5 on 4870? I'm playing BFBC2 only and now have on my system installed 10.3. Sorry if this question already was answered, thread is too big to read.
Get the 10.5A Hotfix, you will see a MASSIVE improvement in load times.
where I can get it? Could you please give a link?
I point you over to the left side of your screen where it shows that I'm running a black edition Phenom II 965 but it's a C2 (aka 140W). It's not that I can't actually adjust the multiplier it's that if I even bump the multiplier with or without a generous voltage bump, it's unstable as hell. I wonder if the C3 (aka 125W) revisions fixed that at all.
Does it do the same thing when reducing the multiplier or if you increase the FSB an equivalent amount to a +0.5 multi change?
These drivers prevented my 5770 from switching to low power mode after gaming, instead of 150/300 it uses 400/1200 clocks and temps are higher -> back to 10.4 as 10.5 offers nothing substancial.
