You should be BANNED from Guru3D, and looking at your post history, I don't think we'll have to wait long.

Instead of putting people down, you should contribute with your experience with these drivers.

QuakeLive works fine with 10.5 Hotfix.

Just installed 10.5a hotfix, getting the same performance as in 10.5 official. But now the loading times have halved. Taking around 7 to 10 seconds to get into a game.

Its great for when im just on forum or msn,

Im guessing its not important to all you guys out there?

However i have to pay electric bill, so this is good news for me.

I discovered something about 157/300 bug. If you have in any chance Ati tray tools installed go to hardware and overclocking settings in ATT and press set default clocks and voila 157/300 clock settings is back.

It's kind of weird why they haven't rolled the bug fix for the 2xxx, 3xxx, and 4xxx cards in to the WHQL releases. It's been around since the 10.4a release at the very least. You'd think it would have made the WHQL list for non-5xxx cards by now.

They did, 10.5a hotfix. It missed the WHQL in error apparently, hence the hotfix driver.

    I see.

While these drivers are great for fixing the dual monitor flickering (so annoying holy cow!) they have crashed severely a few times on me. From completely dying where the monitors weren't getting signal to a general crash of the driver and restart of the driver. In the instance of the former I had to do a reboot. I haven't tried the 10.5a drivers but I doubt I'd see any resolution to that. The only thing I didn't do before installation of this driver is completely wipe 10.4 off my system with an uninstall and driver sweeper of them. CCC also had to be installed twice because it didn't install properly the first time.

I feel reluctant to rollback to any other drivers simply because the flickering bug was more annoying and prevalent than the driver crashes. Every 2-3min while in a 3D application and every so often while not in a game. The driver crashes maybe happen once a day so it's not a huge deal but something I'd rather not see.

I installed the 10.5hotfix, but get also strange performance, Firefox was slow, got random crashes/freezes...

..Back to 8.74drivers and now is fine and also no flickering on the second screen.

Here's my Vantage score with 10.5 on my 5830 @ 900/1100. My CPU is at stock because for some reason it just doesn't like to be OC'd even .5 of a multiplier without going unstable.

Ugh. Good performance annoying that i cant edit idle clocks anymore.

Must say also that alot of problems with these cards are heat related, modded a twin turbo pro arctic cooling on my 5770 rev 1 and temps went down from 69 on load to 45. Its really hot here this summer so room temperature is above 25c sometimes. Idle on gpu is now below 30, lack of sensor for memory is annoying though. Got better fps and no more microstuttrering. The pre applied thermal grease was all dried up and i blew it of and it flew away like a feather.

Replaced thermal grease and what a difference.:) Took me a while though to rebuild the twin turbo to fit.

But this driver is not that great.:) Maybe going back to 10.4 might be a good idea. Always easier said then done though.:)

So a tip to others, tim might be dried up. Replacing might void warranty though.

Hmm wasn't my impression. 10.5a is a hotfix, not a preview driver that didn't make it to WHQL in time.

If you read CatalystMaker's twitter feed, he seems to openly have admitted, ATi did not test the 10.5 before releasing it.

Must have been really embarrassing for Terry. Quite a fail.

If you dont have an unlocked multiplier, you cant raise it to clock higher.
