Asus xonar and Logitech Z5500

    Hi Guys

    just a quick noob question

    When playing mp3's is it correct for it to be playing on through my sub and front left and front right speakers?

    When playing movies its playing through 5.1

    There are Mp3's that are encoded in 5.1 called 5.1 mp3 but there rare. I came across a few of them.

    yes there are some...but usually music mp3's are recorded stereo

    yes its perfectly normal!
    Flac files do have 6 channels audio and loss less quality. However, seldom listened. Often processed to rip quality MP3s.

    Some cards will allow upmxing if you want to listen to your music in surround as some people do. On the Creatve cards it is CMSS3D and on the Xonars, you have Pro Logic IIX and there is a DTS routine also.
