I was interested in a gaming desk from Ikea and then realized it was sized for a 10y old >< I hope they are going to make some adult-sized furniture this time

Ikea has plenty of desks for office use which I think are better than most "gaming" desks.
    Check their Bekant series.

Years ago the community of flight simmers were brainstorming the sale of the Akers-Barnes Cockpit by Ikea. :D

    @Embra
ignorant or you dont know better?
i can show you 3 homes with almost all furniture from ikea, bought about 10-40y ago.
same for about 50 friends that purchased lots of things from ikea during their college years, and even afterwards,
    non of it broken.

and ppl putting stuff together the wrong leading to it breaking, is not ikeas fault.

I find the concept of making the most mundane things as "gaming" products to be such a cringy marketing gimmick. Unless the furniture has features to compliment gaming peripherals (for example, a place to mount headphones or a VR headset, or a built-in caddy to charge gamepads), slapping the word "gaming" on something as neutral as furniture is ridiculous.
And no, RGB LEDs and branded decals don't make something "gaming", it just makes something tacky. A lot of the time, these products age really poorly. For example, I don't see people looking back on today's racing chairs all that fondly 30 years from now; certainly nobody is going to call them "timeless" or "classy".

But, to each their own I guess. If that's what you like, go for it.

I'm in the market for a new "gaming desk" but the options i see are all terrible.

Who'd of thought that finding a suitable PC table would be so hard.

I'd pay £300-350 for a good table but mostly they are £600+ because they have built in motorized height adjustments.

This Thermaltake one i like but it's still a bit on the small side.

That mousepad will look pretty ugly over time.

    160x80 is big enough?
Got one which I had for years, the cable management is ok, could be better, but it's pretty easy to build a proper tray or find one on amazon and alike.

Why on earth would i pay nearly 500 pound for a desk just because it has electric motors in it for moving it up and down.

I really want a table that i can manually adjust because for me once it's set at the right height then i won't need to ever adjust it again.

These motorized tables are for people who like to sometimes stand up at the desk but that's not for me.

I had found one in the "open box" section of ikea, but never seen it in their ads or online ever again.
was a desk looking like a flattop A, with left/right frames having holes every 2in from bottom to top,
so both desk and the shelf above could be freely adjusted,
and the front edge of the desk had a half circle "cutout" so you would be able to get closer to the desk,
allowing both arms to rest on the desk while typing/gaming.
left it in germany when i moved here :(

    @Reddoguk
how about some adjustable legs and you can put whatever size top on it

ahahah good advice ! I actually use a Bekant 140x60cm that I don't think you can buy anymore (saving depth space for VR play space) the cable net underneath is a life saver as I have many many cables under there (also a 10gbit switch rofl)
but I was interested by the layout + speaker shelves as it's a bit annoying to have mine on the desk (Rokit 5 G4 love them)

That has not been my experience, as well as some folks I know.
I am glad you have had good experiences.

No need for being rude and name calling.

its one thing to say YOU had problems with their products, but thats not what you posted.
and until i see global numbers with a double digit 10% supporting your claim, its incorrect and ignorant.
and if you think thats name calling/rude, i guess i have to live with that.

I just bought a long Ikea desk board and 4 legs to screw into it. That's all you need.
If you really want to go premium you can buy a solid kitchen top cut to your own measurements.
