2. That is tricky since it could mean a voltage issue :} In theory it can work though ..

Yes, as far as I know, the board can only deliver 2V and the processor needs 1,8V (right?). What will be the consequence of using the celeron700 ? Will it be recognized ? Will the PC boot ?
OK, when I had a QDI brilliant 1s mobo which uses the same chipset as asus p2b-b (440BX) I didn't had any problems with celeron IIs even if QDI said that the mobo doesn't support them. That happened because the mobos are using a pin on the cpu to determine the voltage so my 533 cel II cpu (1.5volt) was running fine... but since I have never used a p2b-b mobo I can tell for sure chances are 99% it works... but if you want 100% then use a slocket with voltage settings...

@Aris: A big 'THX' goes to you !
But I have one (last) question: Is their any risk of damaging the processor by using it in my mobo and therefore runnning it at a higher voltage than intended ?
let me put it this way a celeron II @700 would smell funny and will not boot if you run it through 2v
Ask asus for support and wait
1-2 weeks for answer
or go to http://www.asusnetq.com.tw/english
Ok some suggestions...
1) Just do it and see what happens.
2) Go to the store where you bought the CPU and ask them to put it on the m/b.
3)wait for an answer.
