    For 399 I'd expect 10Gbit.

Yeah but 10Gbit is still expensive to include. For home use 2.5 is "fine" but I think for $399 I'd expect more than 2 ports.

I'm surprised they lower the port count aswell the original AX88U which I own has 8 lan ports.

And I agree I would like to see alteast 4 2.5Gbps ports.

    1 Wan
Then 1 for a PC another one for a NAS and that leaves one port left.

having recently looked in to 2.5Gb routers or switches....seems like 2.5 isn't quite as mainstream as the products supporting it might suggest :p

most routers have 2 2.5gb (if they support it which is a big if it seems) and with switches you have 4x2.5 but not that consumer friendy pricing :p

but yea i would probably have preferred a 1gb/s wan port and 2 2.5gb/s lan ports that way you could atleast get 2 devices in your network connected at 2.5 without needing to use link agregation on 1 of them....but i'd presonally still wait untill 4x 2.5 gb lan is a option at reasonable prices.

kinda odd thing is asus already has a model on sale that has what this model has for when i checked about 220 euro the AX6000 which doesn't look quite as sleek but... yea
