Asus New ROG Sound cards

I wonder how this sound card will compare to their Older D2#'s and Xense. Tho I kind of expected them to put op-amp sockets on it. Or maybe op-amp socket for each channel.

To me it look like a Xonar D2X with a different design, Sadly it uses realtek Codec 889 for the headphone amp output. Which I think is a silly idea.

Edit: I just realize this info was in the news section,but that shouldn't stop us from talking about it in the sound section.

I was interested in it also,then saw realtek and also was bummed..

 

Hopely they will do some changes before it released to the market, And change the realtek Codec from the Headphone section to a better codec.

 

Why would they use realtek? I'm at a complete loss.. Is everyone coming out with dumbed down cards now?

Ok,I just bought the soundcore 3d,but now I'm all over this card..Looks awesome! I'll own it when it comes out,so will about 5 other guys on this site..LOL:nerd:

Realtek isn't being used in the headphone amp,texas instruments is used..Which is supposed to be very high end.. The realtek is used for the stereo channels it looks like.. Uses a brand new oxygen chip.. Very interesting..

Here I go again. And I just bought another Xonar Xense package. Is this card 7.1 analog too? Not much info on it.

 

Yes it is bro.. Its for gaming with the specs of the STX.. And here I just bought the soundcore 3D..LOL We are our own worst enemies.. GenClay probably fits in there too..

 

what we need is a 130db souncard with native DTS MA/DD Tru HD bitstreaming and decoding, not this rubbish.

 

This card is not in the same league as the STX....if that is what some of you are thinking.

Yes, the design, components..and because of the reported SNR...118dB. That is closer to one of the lower end Xonars not the Essence series flagship cards. Not every card they bring out is a new flagship and top of the line.

The Realtek chip is used for front panel I/O.
