Hi guys, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814126106 Not OC i ordered this Asus GTX Strix 1080 after seeing benchmark on guru3d and other sites. But later i realize that its not OC strix card which i was looking and its boost speed is 1733MHz only(same as founders edition) not 1936MHz+.Look wise they both same but performance will be very low i guess. So guys i wanna know that can i overclock this card to 1936MHz and run *SCAM-SCAM-SCAM*? Or Factory overclock card is bet5ter and safe choice? Or performance wise it wont be difference much..I have 4K monitor so little bit difference also matters. Also want to mention i live in Hot Country temp. 45c in summer. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=N82E16814126103 OC card This is i wanted. Guys help pls.
Help you with what? You ordered several hundreds dollars card to discover it's not the one you want? Overclock it yourself and see what your card is capable of.
Maybe this Asus 1080 Forum thread will be usefull its all about the Asus 1080 and OC https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?86669-Strix-GTX-1080-Is-it-for-you
There's no such binned/cherry picked gpu for OC model so you should easily oc your card at least to the same clocks of Strix OC.
thanks for reply.I told shop keeper that change this card to any OC card if he decline then i will take this card then OC my self.
i didnt know theres 3 model comes in Asus strix gpu. i just tell shop keeper that i want Asus strix 1080.
Don't return it, just oc it yourself, only difference between the two is the bios. There's no guarantee the oc version will clock higher.
If you user a program called MSI Afterburner (which can be found on this site) then you can tell your program to apply your OC clocks each time you start windows - meaning you don't have to do it every time.
http://www.coolermaster.com/cooling/cpu-air-cooler/hyper-103/ Is this good enough to Overclock i7 6700k?
