in the category more affordable ASUS is adding the GeForce GTX 1080 Turbo SKU to its line-up. The card should get a better price at an expected 599 USD. The card is positioned below the founders edit... ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Turbo
It just means they used expensive solid caps from Japan instead of those none solid American ones....
Hmm, might be a choice between this one and the MSI AERO 8G OC in the near future which is a little faster. Or I may go cheaper and the RX 480 until the next gen comes out. I looked it up too and as Tj says, yep it's a dual ball bearing fan. Many manufacturers on this higher-end equipment are now using the aluminum case caps which are supposed to last 10 years, instead of the typical plastic cased caps you get from China. Although really, any country can make either cap type I would expect the good ones on these boards.
I'm curious to see this and the MSI Aero's blower coolers vs the "fancy schmancy" Founders Edition ripoff/cooler.
Not bad really, stock blower cooler but it does have 1x 4pin PWM case fan support and RGB logo so it's a bit better than the MSI reference one.
I just got my MSI Aero OC edition 1080 today. If you got any questions let me know. I played Witcher 3 blood and wine for about 2 hours. Ran everything at max settings including all the hairworks stuff maxed out. Clock speed never went below 1.84Ghz, temp maxed out at 82c, and the fan was silent.
Would anyone happen to know if the 'Turbo' cooler is the exact same on all cards it comes with? Would they put a cooler capable of handling the 1080's 180W TDP on the 120W TDP 1060?
This is nice for people like me who want a Reference Design because of Aftermarket Cooling >_> Or the rest of your PC is so loud you can't hear the Videocard.
