I'm currently looking for a gaming laptop and I'm hesitating between the ASUS G51Jx-A1 and the Asus G73JH-A2.

Does anyone have an idea on which one is better?

If size isnt a problem i'd go for the g73 because of the GPU... Dx11 ;)

Yeah, and I guess if I want 3D, I can buy a pair of glasses for my desktop computer. I already have the Samsung 2233rz(120Hz) and an BFG GTS250 OC.

I just wasn't sure about the difference between the GTS360 and the HD5870. scatman839's link clearly showed that the ATI card is way better.

That has a GTX 260m right? The GTX 360m is just a rebranded 260m. ;)

Unless its a GTS 360m... Those have GDDR5 I think. Still only 10-15% more powerful on average. the m5870 is a better option!

GenTechPC did a demonstration with the G51/360M. They had to reduce the resolution to 1280*720 for playable.

The G73jh can play Crysis 1080p with higher framerate than the G51 could at 720p

It's not a small difference, it's HUGE. The G73 is about 30% faster than any GTX 285M Laptop atm.

What is small in difference is the price. G73 isn't that much more expensive than the G51... I think they are about the same.

Difference between a Clevo with GTX 285 and G73 on the other hand is a different story.

I posted benchmarks using the Asus G73jh here btw: http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=320224
