    Hello!!

Before about 1 month I bought new Asus En8800GT 512MB(version with big cooler). Problem is, that no one of the programs can read the temperature of GPU. Ok, new AsusSmartdoctor can, but it's crap. I tried, ATiTool, rivatuner, hwmonitor, everest and speedfa and i can't see temperature nowhere. Also in nVidia control panel, I don't have all options enabled. Which program should i use? Oh, i have latest nvidia drivers if this is important.

    Here's a picture:

I havnt booted Vista in over 6 weeks until last week and it all of a sudden became unregistered and i have no net access in my new gaff so i gave up on it. I only had everest installed on Vista, i didnt try it for temps though as i was using ATITool.Ive since uninstalled vista

If it works in SmartDoctor, its probably some Vista installation issue,i know for ATITool to work fully it needs to install low level drivers, this required( dunno if thats the case now ) disabling of driver signing on 64bit vista

No, didn't work. All I can see in rivatuner is the graph of GPU temp. which is all time at 0 degrees. Sure, I can see a frequency of the graphic card, but that's all.

^Everything works fine for me on XP :), havnt tried ntune though, cos i hate that bugridden rubbish, that would only work half the time for me before i got my 8800gt and i never installed it after getting my new card, i dont have everest installed on XP. ATITool and rivatuner are grand though, ill double check when i go home, for me SmartDoctor is grand though, its just as handy and the overclocking is grand, ive always use rivituner and atitool, but just installed smartdoctor and it does the biz

No other softwares except Asus smart doctor will work.I know about this issue with Asus En 8800GT with the big cooler. The reason why you can see the temps on any other software is because Asus changed the thermal sensor on the new 8800GT probably because of complaints from users of overheating. The Fan on this model should be always running at 100%.
I have ordered and XFX 8800GT,i was about to buy asus 8800GT when i came to know about the problems and just backed out.

I had this problem with my EVGA 8800GT. It was fixed by installing newer drivers. Im running Vista too.

    Hi

Thats what I read in an other german forum:
The EN8800GT with the big Cooler comes with a new temperature sensor.
You can read the temperature only with the newest smartdoctor 5.084
The guys from rivatuner (and maybe other) works on an update

works fine with the 5.08 smart doctor from the asus site

I have Asus 8800GT Top with the "big" Glaciator cooler
Just the other night i downloaded the beta 169.28 driver for XP x64 and I used the latest SmartDoctor or what ever the name was.....and there was the temp of the gpu core. Also I can see the the clocks of the gpu, memory and shaders and the annoying message "your card is OK" over and over again.
