Getting a (Code 12) Error In Device Manager Here is what I have: Motherboard - ASUS M2R32-MVP AM2+/AM2 AMD 580X CrossFire ATX AMD Motherboard http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131095 Video Card - EN8400GS/DI/512MD2(LP) http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=mnUUIerrexr6oCXp The motherboard has PCIe x16 slots on it. The video card of course uses a PCIe 2.0 slot. From what I have read, it says the card & slot should be backwards compatible. But when I go into my device manager it shows my video card with an error that says: This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system. The correct drivers are installed for the video card. I also just re-installed windows xp, fully updated. I have taken the card back and exchanged it for a new one to make sure it just wasn't defective. I looked and found out my motherboard doesn't have on board video so that isn't an issue. I have no other devices in any other slots on my motherboard. What could this be? I contacted ASUS since the motherboard and video card were made by them but have not received a response yet. :bang:
Sounds like an IRQ conflict. Do you have anything else inserted in the system? Also, damn that motherboard's old. deltatux
