All ASUS 500 series motherboards (X570, B550 and A520) are optimized and ready for AMD Ryzen Zen 3 processors.... ASUS Announces BIOS Updates for Zen 3
This is what mobo makers need to do more of, press release tables like these so that new builders dont have to go digging for support lists on their websites. I have the CH8 X570 and I am currently using a beta bios which is newer than 2206 and contains and newer AGESA. But it's not the 1.1.0.0 version that probably won't release til nearer the 5000 series launch.
I have no intention of buying a 5000 series CPU, but I have a feeling I might want to update the bios just for the heck of it once I finally get around to reinstalling Win10.
Pretty sure they will for the x470 Crosshair VII. It has a large BIOS chip. Not expecting it anytime soon, but I think it will come.
So the 16MB chip B450 will support Zen 3? I guess it will be a limited BIOS with just Zen 2/3 support.
Am I missing something here? These BIOS listed were released almost a month ago....? I got excited because I thought it was something new......
It would be nice if they updated it to fix the soundcard channel swapping issues that plague the entire x570 series boards and Soundblaster Z and AE series cards. Other brands have apparently fixed it. I did discover yesterday though that if I uninstall/disable my realtek network adapter entirely, it fixes my SBZ issue. Lucky for me, I don't use that adapter. But I don't feel like that is truly a solution. (Strix x570-E Gaming)
In case there have been useful updates since I built this PC early this year. If I reinstall Win10 anyway, I don't need to fear screwing things up with a bios update, so it's the perfect time. Unless you wanted to know why I'm not getting a 5000 series CPU, in which case it's because I'll try to survive with the 3700X for a bit longer.
Did amd not state that B450 support would come in January 2021 with bios updates and its up to the motherboard vendors to issue out the bios updates.
Makes sense ... and yep you read me perfectly was curious on the timing. I’m skipping Zen3 too. I love my Zen2. I love Zen3 I just don’t need one because AMD did so damn well on Zen 2.
Me too, but apparently not before next year. Which of those have a 32MB BIOS anyway, which apparently was a requirement? I can't seem to find this information anywhere...
Asus skipped the update to AGESA V2 1.0.8.1 for some of the X570s and that was the update that lowered latency. Mine is of course one of those skipped.
AGESA V2 1.0.8.1 not listed or hadn't shown up yet on there page . https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/AMD-platform-Products/ Have to wait and see, no hurry ,sitting on my 1080Ti and 2700x
I haven't checked on those but people seem to think it has something to do with the x570 having the new PCIe 4.0 chipset. I think B550 has that too so... maybe? I would hope not. It's an annoying issue. I really dislike onboard sound. But this may only affect a small amount of us, I just know I'm far from the only person experiencing it
