PC restart while playing AC Valhalla

I’m 100 hours into the game. Works perfectly except for rare CTD I just restart the game and I can play for hours.

BUT this latest update, twice has the entire PC restarted! Absolutely never happened before, anytime, ever.

After 100 hours of gaming. I think I might have to reinstall the game.

Odissey was one of the best games in years, for me, mainly because it kept me entertained for more then 100 hours in a time i had, like most, to be confined at home.
I´ts a vibrant beautiful alive world with a great character.
Origins although a good game, felt a bit behind Odissey, so i want to continue with AC games, and for me buying a game, because they are expensive, must be a well thought move.

So i got the chance to play a couple of hours in a better rig then mine, and that would give a an idea who graphics and performance would be on my system.
So far thinks i liked and thinks i dislike:
Its a beautiful, dense atmospheric world, love it, but its also feels like dead and empty.
Characters only seem to move or do something when i´m around, which is strange coming from the busy life of Greece
Graphics at High are great, the colours look amazing and the light and fog really creates that atmospheric world.
Performance is strange, although its runs mostly above 50 fps, lack the fluidity of Odissey, it seems very heavy, probably because ot the slow pace.
Dind´t got far in the actual gameplay, but again combat felt heavy and slow paced, but it seems a premature conclusion.
I really liked to like this game, but, honestly it felt a step back if compared to Odissey, or at best a step sideways in a direction that for me, felt strange.
Going to try to play a bit more before definitive conclusions.

Odyssey is a great example of how you can make a games graphics look much better with great design. It is a much denser world too. Feels more alive.

Valhalla is a step backwards in pretty much every area.

What seemed superior to me in Valhalla was the lighting.
    In some areas looks stunning.

I didn't particularly enjoy "green" areas in Odyssey with foliage and grass. Especially if you've played RDR2, those areas in Odyssey look terrible.

Yep RDR2 looks great in those areas.
The AA takes a little clarity and vibrancy out from it tough.

Resolution Scale 1.50x + some tiny bit of NV Sharpening or RIS makes it perfect.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To me, AC Odyssey is big and big only. It had too much copy & paste vast amounts of art assets across different locations, changing up some of the photography and the layout to give the impression that we're exploring new place. But each place ends up feeling almost identical to the last. I think it's horrible design. Valhalla isn't necessarily better in this regard. But lighting is quite a bit improved.

Any way to improve the draw distance?

That's not a fair comparison as everything pales and look anemic in comparison to RDR2. That game is at least 10 years ahead of anything in regards to graphical presentation, animation, facial expressions, physics, AI, you name it.

RDR2 is indeed the standard other games can't meet, at least imo. :)

True but the Nexus landscape mods make the fields look greener and more vibrant and well as livening up some of the buildings' visuals & other objects.

This overlooked Nexus reshade restores both to some degree. Gives more detail including in the distance. Some think it makes the grass look too green but I'm ok with it.

It does make the grass look fake imo. But then again, i'm yet to see a reshade which actually improves a games visuals. It's always just overblown contrast and colors.

    Absolutely true.
Reshade is great for screenshots, but in-game i dont recall using one that made the game look better.

I kinda only used sharpening and now when amd and nvidia have their own in driver there is no need.
