Well the good thing is that this should be the first AC game to use Vulkan, so it should perform much better than any previous AC game even if it has more detail.
So the leaks were true btw: https://www.realgamernewz.com/12570/assassins-creed-ragnarok/#more-12570 Which means we might have more infos: 4 Player Co-Op (drop in, drop out). Platform: PlayStation and Xbox (current and next gen). Will be announced at Sony’s PS5 Event in Feb. 2020. AC Ragnarok will release September 29, 2020. Main Character: Jora was created mainly as a female character but has a male version with the same name apparently. Jora led a small band of 4 during their adventures which is why other players can drop in and out for co op. Continues heavy RPG mechanics classes skill trees. Combat is upgraded with more weapon types and abilities. Each weapon can have runes upgraded and durability increased. Adrenaline replaces Beserker mode; fire, frost, lightning. Weapon durability and small inventory which can be upgraded. Conquest battles are making a comeback. Sailing returns, but with less of a combat focus, and more exploration. Upgraded parkour, tree climbing. Hidden blade is back and customizable. Level system has been overhauled to allow level region locking to be eliminated in the open world. Map should be representing various kingdoms.
Sounds like evolution rather than revolution, which is fine with me, though I hope the tone, the story of the game is more gritty.
So this is by the Origins team? Anyway, if they go with male and female char choice again I hope there is a larger difference in the story than Odyssey. Give me a reason to replay it. Also hoping they won't bring back microtransactions.
Would be quite easy to do actually, just give the male more strength / damage resistence and the female more stealth tactics & poison damage.
I've enjoyed Origins & Odyssey immensely, but based on the leaked info. I'll be a bit reserved in looking forward to this one. 4 Player Co-Op (drop in, drop out). Beserker mode; fire, frost, lightning Weapon durability None of those elements appeal to me, I was kinda hoping they'd continue the trend of it being, well, just a single player game. Still, will be neat to see gameplay & official info about the title.
It is. My worry is just that by including Co-Op, some content in the game; Missions / equipment etc. Will be gated so it can only be obtained by playing with someone else. Like they did with Unity.
Not massively into AC games but that's mostly due to their setting. Valhalla/Vikings is right up my alley though so I'll be interested in this.
*struggles hard to not preorder because of a rendered trailer which doesnt say anything about the gameplay*
LOL we can preorder already. There gonna be 6 versions but none on Steam - just Uplay, Uplay+ and EGS. https://www.ubisoft.com/en-us/game/assassins-creed/valhalla/buy The statue prob shows the female version of the player model:
well.. that's ok. one less AC game to play, im not that bothered. thanks for the update, deleted it from my list
While i totally respect your decision i keep wondering why ppl buy a game where they would have to run Steam AND Uplay in the background just to play a game. Just saying.
well its more of a principle in my eyes. i dislike the idea of using anything other than Steam, but those specific games that require an extra launcher to load it ( like Rockstar, Ubisoft ) are the lesser evil. if its gonna be exclusive to one store such as EGS im just moving on. i have hundreds of games on my Steam library and i intend to keep it that way im not interested in anything else, just my good old library. so out of respect to every member here i will not talk about it again on this topic, because it might be misunderstood and go to a "EGS\Steam" argument. anyway.. your reply on the versions of this game was actually right on time, so thanks again.
Only thing I thought while watching the trailer... "I've seen this before... oh yeah, Vikings. Good show."
Meanwhile, resetera is mad because the protagonist isn't a black, lesbian dwarf OK all jokes aside, the people in that thread are legitimately pissed that not only was the female version of the protagonist not shown, but that the character, dialogue options and storyline will probably be centered around a masculine point of view much like AC Odyssey. And I can't say they're wrong, but what on Earth do they expect for a game that will be Viking themed and where the protagonist is a Viking warrior conducting raids across Europe? With such a plot, getting a female oriented perspective is going to seem very out of place.
