Honestly someone who can afford 2 gfxcards (esp 970ers) should have no problem affording an i7 ;)

If you guys are still looking to get this game, check ebay. I found some keys that are starting out at $35

If anyone's upped to 334.65 to grind this game, kindly share the SLI bits, because lazy homo sapians such as me do not wish to update the driver again.

The same thing was said about Watchpuppies and i for one had no issues. Had less stuttering than others with i7s. i5s can still hold their ground.

    4790K, MSI Z970 Gaming 5, 16GB 2133MHz HyperX, H110 Cooler = slightly more expensive than 2 x 970s :)

i5 or i7 don't let that fool you. i5's are just fine. Your CPU is just fine. No need to upgrade.

Thing is that people say very different things on that matter. 50% say my CPU sucks for 970 SLI and 50% say it's fine. I don't know what to believe any longer.

Yes for single gpu its fine, but crosfire or SLI it will bottleneck, even that 4790K might but minimal.

Change that memory for 2400mhz CL9 or CL10 ram! :nerd:

I did some looking around and found this, dunno how great the store is
    http://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/dato..._ddr3_pc-19200_2400mhz_cl10&atcl=external:ref

    or this CL9 8gb kit x2.
    http://www.webhallen.com/se-sv/dato..._ddr3_pc3-19200_2400mhz_cl9&atcl=external:ref

these CL9 2400mhz are 37gb/s for sure, 2133mhz CL9 does ~ 32.7gb/s and higher system bandwidth >>> faster SLI when cpu/windows API driver bottlenecked.

As long as your clock speed is high enough, you shouldn't have to worry. A hyperthreaded CPU would still be better, but brute clock speed can help make up that difference on non hyperthreaded CPUs..

My GF is using a 4690k at 4,5 ghz - playing the same games, her cpu is FAR more pressed, than my cpu.

Also, how much cpu power you need, greatly depends upon what game engine youre using, aswell as how many fps you intend to pull. Crysis 3 for instance - my 4930k at 4,5 ghz can pull roughly 110 fps, while her i5 can pull about 70 fps.

Unless she has the same GPU setup as you, such a comparison isn't worth very much..

Crysis 3 does love hyperthreaded CPUs though..

She is using 680 sli, and we lowered res to 720p, so that gpu power wouldnt influence result :)

So how does it run ? Support 16:10 ? Tripple buffering enabled ? No cores stuck at 100% ?

"...until now I only played the (very spoilery) beginning bit.. and well. Maxed out with all the nVidia stuff.. I was barely above 30fps at all times. Sometimes it dropped into the 20s. (Sometimes it was also in the 40s though). Gonna play the same section again on different settings and go a bit past that to see if it changes later on.

    i7 2600k and GTX 780 "

Not even a gtx 980 will come near at maxing this game at 60fps minimum

edit: seems like he's running with 4xtxaa though
