Damn Aveline DLC was super short lol, and since I did not have the chance yet to play ACIII: Liberation (will come out for PC only in january 2014) I didn't understand much of the story either. I hope Freedom Cry is better. :p

I'm really curious, but is there any way to disable those DLC packs? I really regret getting them...

No they are part of your account and for now there's no way to toggle individual DLC, if they had used separate files it would have been easier but for now I believe there's nothing you can do about the time-saver packs if you purchased one or several of them and regret it.

Reached 100% completion on Freedom Cry now as well. It is a really, really well done DLC, not too short, a bit of everything and overall a great feeling. Ubisoft has done a great job with AC4, I'm going to try the mp as well soon but for me AC is and will be all about the sp experience, or better said in this case the PIRATE experience. :nerd:

I don't have this game installed on my sig rig because I'm afraid of SLI not working properly. Is it scaling fine for you?

SLI is working fine, 60 fps most of the time, and I say most because there are several times when it can dip under that, especially with physix set on high.

After patch v1.04 from uplay, (infact I think it was from v1.02), SLI scaling completely broke. I tried to run a v1.01 by just the executable, it actually worked, but tooltips turned up as undefined, however SLI scaling is back to normal.

SLI scaling broke when it rained. The whole sequence where we chase the princess ran so utterly poop on v1.04 but was super smooth on v1.04. Same for the sequence where we goto Charles Town for Blackbeard's medicine and chase the captain. It rains during that time. SLI scaling on v1.04 has utterly poop framerates, microstutter, whatnot and v1.01 just runs it smooth. Shouldn't have got this game. I'm forced to use a crack just to get a smooth gameplay experience.

Kinda reminds me with what happened to Ghost Recon Future Soldier. The first patch actually broke the game for me. idk whats the status now, but Kiev studio ... ughh what do I even say now. Just please don't give them Watch Dogs. Its tolerable they destroy AC series on a yearly basis.

    How do you disable DOF?

And does anyone know why I get capped at 15fps when I enable Adaptive vsync in Nvidia Inspector? I'm using the latest beta drivers. It's not a deal-breaker though because the game is running almost constant 60fps so far (just started the game so I'm on the first beach) maxed out @1080p.

I'm running this game with my Geforce GTX 670 right now and the performance is acceptable.

Now i have the chance to buy a AMD R9 290 very cheap and i was wondering how the performance is with AMD cards? Thanx.

Impressions after my 1st hour of gameplay:

Graphics are similar to AC3 but with better textures (particuarly vegetation and water), lighting and less flickery AA. With all the eye-candy maxed out and SweetFX it looks next gen.

Performance is similar to AC3 (which took several months of patches and Nvidia driver releases to be acceptable) but it's hitching quite a bit in Havana and I'm having trouble getting Adaptive V-sync to work.

Gameplay is basically the same. Interface seems more efficient. Climbing is quicker and free-running more smooth than AC3.

The choice of setting is good and I like Kenway. Abstergo sequences already look more fun to play than in previous games.

I also downloaded the app for my iPad, something I never thought I'd use it for! But it's great to use for maps and the animus data instead of having to go through the menu in-game.

I actually enjoyed AC3 for the most part but AC4 already seems to be a better game.

So I tried a couple of matches in the MP, reached rank 3... as expected it's not my cup of tea, it was the same in past AC games. Not to mention it's so bloated with a lot of useless stuff in the menu that a newb can get easily overwhelmed. Oh well, the SP is where it's all at for me in AC, and AC4 did a great job there.

sry I guess if it doesn't have the option in-game then I was just asumming it did, anyways I only see it when cutscenes are happening.

A R9 290 should do a fair bit better than a 670 however keep in mind that the game is part of Nvidia's "The Way It's Meant to Be Played" program so there could be some issues with AMD GPUs.
It's sad that we as consumers have to cope with this politics BS in our game but that's how it goes I'm afraid. :(
