Assassins Creed IV: Black Flags

All four cores? The first one should range between 90-100% in this game.

 

What are you running the 4770k at? I'm on a 3770k and no frame drops at all unless I enable physx which is very stuttery and buggy.

 

Your looking at total usage take a peak at SLI's pictures few posts up that is only 55-60% overall usage and I don't think this game uses HT so 30-40% overall sound right.

 

So what's the strategy to be a legendary ship? I sunk one, and then his mate got mad and sunk me. lol

 

My game has now started freezing. Im at the point where you get to Africa 41% in.

Its been fine up intill now but tried everything and cant get it to run past this point. You have to sink 5 ships? Anyone have the answe to this?

 

I suspect you're talking about the twin ships. There are 4 legendary ship locations in total.

Anyway, to beat them twins, you have to bring both ships' health down enough so that, when you destroy the first ship, you can quickly take down the other one (use a mortar or something) before it gets the chance to ram you.

 

I'm considering using full v sync cause I suffer tearing now and again...
anyone else using it?

Edit: horrible performance /gpu usage with full v sync, ..back to adaptive.

 

nice tip, still with adaptive I get around the same performance, I'm on the quadro and performance is fine even in city so i'll carry on with adaptive and hope for driver maturity.

 

the foliage in the game is the best ever seen imo, oh hell I want the witcher 3 to have at least as good foliage as this and not look cartoony, I would eat for breakfast some of the foliage in this game.
also imo due to the uber graphics it's very immersive, basically ..it's epic. and unlike batman you can throw folks off buildings.

 

Has no one else had the freezing issue where the game stops responding, I cant get any further than 41%?

 

Those 2 bastards keep ganging up on me. I try to mortar the hell out of 1 ship from afar but they still outrun me. lol

 

They are faster than your ship (as weird as that sounds ), so you must find a way to slow them down. Try firing your front chain shot canons to slow one of them down. Then try getting behind it and keep slowing it down with chain shots and ramming it any chance you get, for as long as you can. Once you get the first ship's health down enough (remember, don't sink it), focus on number 2, using the same strategy. Don't let both of them surround you, because their canons will destroy even a fully upgraded Jackdaw in no time.

That said, the hardest ship in the game is El Impolito (on the opposite side of the map). If you thought the twins were hard, that bastard is even a notch harder. Don't even try to take it down without a fully upgraded armor.

 

Triple buffer and limit to 60FPS. You will spend most of your time at 30FPS but you should not have screen tear. Oh and make sure your monitor is set to 60Hz.

 

Yea lol, it's so annoying, them beeing like 3-4 times bigger than you and yet much faster. I just defeated all and I agree that El Impoluto is easly the hardest, needed like 10 tries to defeat him, twins 5th try and the others were cakewalk. I've done it with fully upgraded Jackdaw though.

 

I'll keep how I'm doing thanks, 30fps? no thanks.

Performance test by PCGH on PhysX.

First with it disabled, then with a GT640 dedicated to PhysX and then low quality and finally high quality.

 

I kinda figured you'd need a dedicated card. But performance is still crap in certain areas even with physx on low. So I have it turned off for right now. I have a 650 Ti that a friend is letting me borrow next week. I'm hoping to do some tests of my own with it.

 

imo a dedicated card is a waste, always is if you have enough powa with a single /dual setup.

 

Well If I could keep SLI and dedicate once of the cards as physx, I wouldn't need an extra one.
