    Hardly strange.
You can use many older drivers and see the same performance increase on AC3, you dont need the newest driver.

It would help if you stated the context when recommending a driver.

guess there will be no patch for performance.. so minimum i5 2500 is mandatory (ı believe that it will be mandatory for future releases too). and a great nvidia 600 series card.

1080p, Max Settings, TXAA, 310.XX drivers = disgusting performance in Boston. Even in Skyrim (heavily tweaked and modded) and Crysis 2 (heavily tweaked and modded) I get miminum 55fps outdoors.

nice pic! yeah I think ubi/nvidia need a decent kick up the ass no?

perf is ok for me in Boston (running shadows on normal, aa very high, rest high)

I wouldn't mind so much if other DX11 games were running badly on my system or if I had a budget PC. But I've got a good rig that cost a lot of money and just about every game I own runs at 60-120 fps.

If they don't release a fix (or work with Nvidia to get better driver support) by the end of the year it'll be almost as bad as EA and their career mode crash they still haven't fixed.

There isn't a way to make a game that looks this good run great on mid range hardware.

Isn't it the best looking game to date?

We need top end GPU's for this to run smooth in Boston..Theres all kinds off stuff going on there...Lots of polygons to push...

    Vsync off helps..It helped me..

it doesnt look like its pushing that much polygon considering GPU usage in that area is very low (as if its waiting for the CPU to received fetched data to render)

My 580 underclocked from stock by 10% is great for AC3, Boston and all.
But you need a clocked 2500K or faster to get the best of it.

All this talk about performance with AC3 reminds me of comments from when the first AC was released on PC. People saying they could run Crysis and had issues with Assassin's Creed.

    Twas. Funny.

I was one of them :eyes: AC needed a better CPU (a decent dual core) to run at minimum settings than Crysis at medium settings where you could do just fine with a fast single core cpu.

So I redeemed 30 uplay points to unlock Ezio's armour but when I go to where it should be there's not a single item hung up for me to use?

    What gives? :3eyes:

This game could do with another skyboost type mod like we had for Skyrim a year back which magically added 20-30 fps. Saying that I think most games that I'm play at the moment could do with something like this as everything seems to be running like crap at the moment.
Ah the joys of PC gaming and spending a grand on building a PC only to find out that you get the same frame rates as console versions of the game.......happy days.

I feel your pain, Ive not long come from console gaming over to the PC thinking the grass would be greener on the other side so to speak. In some ways it is, when it works properly.

Devs are lazy. Do you really think they will stop taking the easy way out just because the new consoles are in the picture? We will still get sh!tty ports.
